Charlo is up there.
What current fighter is hyped the most while doing the least?

I find it pretty hilarious that GGG gets the most votes but he's the only one mentioned that has fought & beaten (at least in most eyes) two #2's in his division, over the past year no less. You'd think that would kind of cement his standing but I guess it has to do more with the fan base than the actual fighter himself?
T Fury most over-hyped without a doubt, at this stage anyway. Mall Charlo or Spence are neck & neck in the running, but both pass the eye test at least.Comment

Aj and ggg are very overhyped, there is a difference in fans being happy with new talent and getting behind a fighter but with aj and ggg it went to a level that made no sense. They are good fighters indeed but overhyped beyond measure.Comment

Yeah, no. When you get lit up like a boy Christmas tree you don't get to claim a moral victory.Comment

Povetkin.
Look at all the fellas who debuted after Povetkin, fought for a title before Povetkin, and never had to see Povetkin. Alright now look at all the leftovers on his resume. Finally how many unbeaten fighters has he faced?
This is the guy who is a threat to Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, and Anthony Joshua is it?
I didn't even need to bring up the two failed drug tests for two different drugs, or the fact that he ducked Wlad for a decade and only fought Wlad after securing the Reg belt because a uni gets him paid better than a mando and he had no intention on winning. He's a natural gatekeeper scared to keep the gate which is why Wlad fought so many no hopers. They didn't get stopped on their way up the ranks because the man in position to stop them swarved instead.
He's a tinkerbell but fans pretend he's fearless.Comment

This thread is full of idiotic fanboys, good god. You don't like Spence? HYPEJOB. Don't like Wilder? HYPEJOB. Don't like Joshua? HYPEJOB.
Right now, I'd say it's Fury easily. Similar to Rigo, 1 good win with some 'eh' circumstances that was 3 years ago. Gervonta Davis deserves a small mention too.Comment

I would say Wilder, but no one outside of boxing circles knows who he is.
I think there has to be a correlation between popularity and accomplishment. On that note, I would have to say Broner. He has earned some good paychecks and continues to do so for a guy who has proven he is B-rate at best.Comment

Mikey Garcia is pretty hyped considering what he's done, he's beaten some decent fighters but nobody that good. same could be said for Crawford, for all the belts he's picked up and so high on everyones p4p list, he hasn't beaten any top opposition. I rate both fighters but it's hard to be completely sold when they never fight anyone that good.
Bivol too. I'm a fan but lets see him pick up more good wins. His performance v Barrera was impressive though.Comment
