I wanna see canelo and GGG lay it all on the line this time like they were supposed to the first time. They have bad blood now so they shouldn't need anymore incentive.

chavez jr. , liam smith, amir khan, james Kirkland, angulo!!!! what do you call them? superior?
all the above drained to the bone! compliment of you know who.....
with Saul Alvarez. You talk as if Canelo deserves zero
respect, but then you only seem to be able to assess
GGG's worth by comparing him to Canelo.
You seem to be saying that you think Golovkin is great
simply because you think Canelo is not great.
I did not mention Canelo in my comment whatsoever,
but your whole reply was about Canelo.
That's the definition of obsession.

Originally posted by TonyGe View PostAre you serious. Mexican style generally describes a fighter that is agressively trying to win the fight. This whole Mexican style nonesense is getting out of hand. An agressive defensively sound fighter can be described as Mexican style which is no more than a particular style that's been around since boxers first got into the ring. A lot of Mexican fighters adopted this type of fighting do it was coined Mexican style. It's not exclusive to any one nationality. Power punches, Golovkin landed only 4 less in the fight but landed 53 more jabs. So really your grasping at straws here. If you go back and look at Golovkin's history he's been defensively responsible throughout his career. He isn't Superman. If an opponent does well against him in certain departments people tend to over exaggerate it. What's he supposed to do win every exchange and every minute of every round. That's the kind of BS his detractors lay on him. There is a rematch coming up let's see how it turns out. If Canelo wins well he wins but Im sticking with my guy.
But let's be real here.. Aside from Canelo and Jacobs who has Triple g really fought?? Yes alot of fighters avoided him but at the same time he avoided certain fighters. You do remember "Anyone from 154-168 right"?? We both know what happened when Andre Ward came calling after that...
You're right, he's not gonna win every second of every fight but I feel his record is padded and most of the fighters he fought weren't on his level and therefore were there to make Triple g look good. They weren't expected to win and nobody gave them much of a chance of winning. That speaks for itself.
What I'm trying to say is I don't think Triple g is that good defensively.
Offensively he's a beast, can't deny that. But I feel that his offense is his defense! He overwhelms opponents to the point where their intimidated to throw punches once Triple g is on them and throwing bombs their way.
But we saw when he fought Jacobs and Canelo that wasn't the case. He was afraid to get countered by Canelo and therefore he didn't land as many power shots as we're used to seeing him land on opponents.
That's all I'm saying.
But you said it, the rematch is only a month away. It's a great fight that either fighter can win but I'm sticking with Canelo.

The reality is that GGG could easily outpoint Canelo with a jab only and embarrass him, but who would want to see that?? GGG is there to entertain and takes risks for the boxing fans, thats why he is beloved all around the world.

There is no such thing as mexican style...abel sanchez created that word to make ggg marketable to the mexican fans...he fights that way cause he knows no other way
It's worked for him fighting busters
As soon as he faced Jacob's and
Canelo he looked ordinary....
