Well isn't that what triple g and guys like you consider Mexican Style? Standing in the center of the ring and trading punches all night??
I never said Triple g took Alot of punches.. He overwhelms his opponents and he's strong so that's why he's never taken the type of punishment other fighters like Brandon Rios have...
Triple g outlanded Canelo in the Jab department but that's it. As far as power punches to the face and body well Canelo outlanded him. That's all I'm saying.
Are you serious. Mexican style generally describes a fighter that is agressively trying to win the fight. This whole Mexican style nonesense is getting out of hand. An agressive defensively sound fighter can be described as Mexican style which is no more than a particular style that's been around since boxers first got into the ring. A lot of Mexican fighters adopted this type of fighting do it was coined Mexican style. It's not exclusive to any one nationality. Power punches, Golovkin landed only 4 less in the fight but landed 53 more jabs. So really your grasping at straws here. If you go back and look at Golovkin's history he's been defensively responsible throughout his career. He isn't Superman. If an opponent does well against him in certain departments people tend to over exaggerate it. What's he supposed to do win every exchange and every minute of every round. That's the kind of BS his detractors lay on him. There is a rematch coming up let's see how it turns out. If Canelo wins well he wins but Im sticking with my guy.
We've already seen what GGG would do with the MexiCAN holidays by himself. He just showed us in case you forgot. He pulled a 2 year RETIRED 3-3, 154 lb Albanian up in weight on Cinco De Mayo.
You know what PPV and Vegas called the fight???
STINKO DE MAYO and told him get the *** off PPV AND GET the *** out of Vegas with that CRAP!!! He got BOOTED out of the State LMFAO!!!!
now you know good and well that fight happened because there was less than a month to make a fight because your guy f**ked up the real fight that was supposed to happen. That wouldn't be the case should he beat Canelo in Sept and planned an opponent for a may ppv. And now that people aren't ducking ggg anymore, nobody is dropping their belt to avoid him, or saying things like they're not ready, he won't have a problem getting one of the other names I mentioned.
so what you're saying is that you are such a Canelo nut sack rider, that even if he gets his ass whooped next month, even after using peds and fighting a bunch of no hope opponents for 3 straight Mexican holidays in a row before finally manning up to face ggg, you'll still prefer to spend the money you make selling roses on the freeway on watching Canelo fight? Hey, knock yourself out.
Id rather watch canelo who is mexican fight on those Mexican holidays than watch ggg. Yes id rather do that. Look, dont get me wrong I went a bit too far with my previous post, i would gibe triple g all the credit in the world of he beats canelo... But no one is taking those dates away from canelo anytime soon. Spence is there, mungia, charlos, silly hoe Saunders, the russian ggg ducked, jacobs. Thats at least 3 more years in fights right there if no ggg 3 and that doesnt include fighters that can grow and be relevant in 3 years too. Canelo will headline on those dates for at least 5 years at the most 10 years. Wether you throw a fit or not... Facts
GGG landed 218 total punches. Canelo landed 169 total punches. That means Canelo only landed 0.775 punch (less than one) to every 1.0 punch GGG landed, or that GGG landed 1.289 punches to every one punch Canelo landed. Now if you mean that of the punches Canelo threw that he landed a higher percentage (33.5% or 169 of 505) than GGG landed of the punches he threw (31% or 218 of 703), then you are correct. These figures based on CompuBox stats. Hope this helps.
Golovkin fights 'Mexican Style' when his opponent is Kell, Vanes,
or other smaller/inferior opponents.
Unfortunately, Golovkin becomes 'British Style' when it comes
time to fight dangerous or talented fighters.
at least he respects the division by fighting at 160!!!
unlike other fighters milking the catch weights to become champions fighting at 155-154 157! not only is the competition inferior but he also has to drain them! so much for a champion! than vacates to avoid GGG! if you consider GGG opponents inferiors! than what do you call the following... @ catch weights>?
chavez jr. , liam smith, amir khan, james Kirkland, angulo!!!! what do you call them? superior?
all the above drained to the bone! compliment of you know who.....

That's why I will never be a fan of Canelo. It made him a lot of money and built up his rep but I'm not a fan.

I think you're being overly optimistic about Canelo, his longevity, his status among fans if he loses (especially after the ped scandal), and golden boys willingness to put him in vs the guys you mentioned consistently as opposed to guys like lemieux or the mustache dude. But, fair enough assessment.
what did pac or mayweather or trinidad do in ppv numbers before they took on and beat a big star like Oscar? Are you new to boxing? Have you not seen a pattern of how fighters become bigger ppv names? Keep watching the sport. You'll eventually get it young sport.
Mayweather had PPV's with gatti, Judah and baldomir that did better than any GGG PPV.
