It just so happens that its usually foreign fighters who dont have power promoters behind them when they come to the USA, and don't have people offering them millions to fight bums like a lot of the American fighters of this disappointing generation do, so the foreign fighters are the ones who have to actually fight the best in order make their way in the sport, which makes them a lot more fan friendly.

Plus, they still seem to actually respect boxing as a sport in foreign countries, to the point where many there actually view winning an Olympic gold medal in the amateurs (which pays very little money) as more important than going pro to make millions. Whereas the American boxing scene, post-Floyd Mayweather, seems to represent the attitude of, "F the sport, F the fans, boxing is just a business, milk as much money as you can out of the sport from as many cherry picks as possible with as little risk as possible, then get out of the sport. I dont have nothing to prove by fighting that foreigner, I already proved everything, it's not about the fans it's about taking the least risks possible and getting paid, if that attitude destroys the sport then so be it, I don't owe anything to this sport, plus it always survives anyway."

So, what do you expect? Fans of the SPORT of BOXING actually prefer BOXERS who still view it as a SPORT and are still interested in competing to be the best in their division and giving fans the fights they want to see, rather than boxers who just want to milk the fans out of as much money as possible without ever giving them the fights they want to see that will prove who the best is.

The only similarity between Usyk and Kovalev, whose countries are actually at odds right now, is that they both give fans the fights they want to see. It turns out, that's the one thing that matters the most, so of course real boxing fans will be drawn to them both because of that, but there are also others who do that as well.
Foreign fighters are cool, but I also have a lot of respect for American fighters like Mayweather, Ward, and Mikey Garcia, because they not only dominate their divisions, but they also go beat up the best of other weight classes too! Everyone thought Floyd was crazy to fight Oscar @ 154, but he did it, and won! He then beats Cotto @ 154, and Canelo @ 152! Everyone thought Ward wouldn't dare fight Kovalev! However, after GGG ducked him @ 168, he moved up and challenged the best @ 175, and won! Now Mikey is doing the same! Everyone says he crazy to fight Errol Spence Jr. @ 147! However Mikey is determined to fight! That's what the great ones do! Like I said, foreign fighters are cool, I'm especially fond of Cuban and Mexican Warriors, but I love my American fighters too!

The winner of the rematch against the Stevenson/Gvozdyk would be nice. Jack against someone like Bivol or Betertbiev in the mean time would be cool also. But that's just being greedy i guess.

Seems as if Don Turner and John David Jackson got the best outta Kov. He doesn’t listen, loves excuses, and takes no responsibility.

He should start playing dodgeball, then he can probably be world champion again.

I knew Kov was an idiot when, after the 1st Ward fight, he claimed Jackson had overtrained him and that he would train less for the rematch. My question to Kov is, if u thought u won the first fight,(which was a close fight) why the *** would u train less for the second ? Especially considering Ward told everyone he didn’t get any road work in for the first fight due to knee inflammation.

              Hope alaverez burys him.

I can agree that HBO does do this. And although I don’t care for Kov, I still had him up prior to the KO. Kov’s Power had slowed Alvarez down tremendously after the 2nd, and kinda had him in survival mode.

I guess Alverez went into preservation/survival mode to drag Kov out into deep waters and it worked.

I can buy that and yes HBO is the absolute worst. They’ll say the fighters name over and over again by him just merely throwing punches all the while the non HBO opponent could be landing at will with little to no mention. I mainly stick to Showtime boxing. There is far less favoritism whether or not their club fighter is winning
