Fans want Joshua vs Wilder right away, but that's just not going to happen until Hearn, Joshua, Finkel & Wilder are truly ready for it to happen. It's not the end of the world. It will happen, and hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, there are other HW contenders and good fights to be made. We'll just have to wait for Joshua vs Wilder, which just builds into the mega fight that it deserves to be.

        Ridiculous really
I read the rules as well. Seems like they can choose just about anybody to be a mandatory. The #1 or #2 contender could be passed over for a variety of reasons.

How much do they need Wilder to pay to be named mandatory?

Is this move supposed to push Wilder to sign the flat fee deal such that signed contracts could be presented to the WBO to support a unification waiver? Thus, when he doesn't sign, they'll say, we had to fight another mando. I doubt the WBA or WBO would do anything that would cause the Joshua gravy train to drop their belt. Seems that Hearn is influencing both. Its a smart move if true.

Wait whaaaaaaaatttt??? So if Povetkin is the wba Mando and the wbo number one, why doesn't that fullfil both sides seeing as how AJ has both belts??? Haha freaking ****** af haha... Everybody had a clue Dillian Whyte was going to be next anyways because he beat Joseph Parker to be next in line. So who wants to see this rematch?? Lol

I will say this Whyte had AJ in trouble early on, so it would be ashamed if lost. And on top of that I wonder if Whyte would be more willing to fight Wilder than AJ was?

Warren "owns" the WBO not Hearn and he hates Hearn, expected Fury to be name mandatory even if he loses to Wilder ;-)

Whyte is ranked number 2 right now behind Povetkin. With Hearn's influence, they will just bump Whyte up to no.1 after AJ beats Povetkin. Then Hearn has his fight and justifying it by saying it's a mandatory.

That's why they already planted the seed saying about not being sure about making a final eliminator, because they already know Whyte is going to have that fight. In terms of dates, Hearn will just get an extension if needs be.
