But Hatton was older and shot before he retired and come back
He was only 32 and not shot at all. He lost to the Pac when Pac was suspect and Floyd. That’s it. He looked great otherwise.
He got sad over a loss like most people.
Fury had a mental breakdown and was talking about dying during a WIN against a legend and hall of famer, ending a reign...and even acknowledges he’s not fully there mentally....as a 27 year old. That makes it worse
Fury was not okay. Might not be still Hatton had your typical crisis after a devastating loss.
The stakes are higher at HW.
I’m rooting for the gypsy king vs the current champs...but that s hit was/is serious. He was not okay and he may never be and I’ll worry for him if he loses.
Once he has Wilder or Aj infront, lets see how he deals when the pressure is back on...

He really didn't.
He was getting saved by the ref v C level fight Lazcano and looked awful. He beat Paulie, but let's be fair, Paulie lost to any decent fighter he faced beyond a certain level. I was a big Ricky fan but he was never the same after the Floyd fight.
I don't disagree entirely with what you say, i think it's hard for Fury to get back to his best, as much as i'd love that. I just think Hatton was really at the very back end of his career when he retired first time, even at 32. Fury was reaching his prime. Let's not forget, apart from a few exceptions, 32 isn't that young for a guy in those weight divisions.
Like that time Hatton came back after the drugs and lost all the weight then got stopped
I was trying to think of a way to explain to these boxing fans, how Fury's weight loss is not likely going to bring him back to his former glory. After so much time spent in sloth and gluttony, he will have lost something. He may have even lost a lot. I'd be curious to see how his stamina holds up. Maybe he's still got it but I wouldn't be too confident in him. Also, he has shown how quickly and easily he can mentally decline. Certainly his reflexes haven't improved since fighting Klitschko, because he is 3 years older and abused his body and mind with garbage. He could've been the best heavyweight today but I would be very surprised if that could happen now.

Stamina is the biggest question mark for me also. To beat a top hw he'll have to be moving constantly for 12 rounds and he'll need to outwork his opponent because he's unlikely to out hit them and he'll need to go the distance. Will his fitness carry him through the championship rounds? If he sticks to his original plan and builds fitness over a year of slowly improving opposition then maybe, but moving from Seferi and Pianeta to Wilder sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

I’m invested in the gypsy king tho. War Fury.
Just like Big Lug said, Hatton was never the same after Mayweather cracked his chin, which already a taken hammering in the Tszyu fight. He was really at the end against Pac and there for the taking, hence why he was being knocked down by every solid punch from Pac in round 1. His all action style with all the punishment he took in his career, combined with his ballooning weight and crash dieting meant he was a very old 32.
