I think it is more than that. It is a fight with a name opponent. Usyk needs a fight with eye balls tuned into him. I know he draws real well in some corners of Europe, but he needs to get some more airplay. Bellew brings that. We know he is a "B" level fighter and Usyk is a P4P talent (he is #4 on my list), but Bellew is riding a high right now and has beat Haye twice in well received fights. It will get a large crowd that will help promote Usyk as he moves to HW.

Yes, they're excellent points. As I posted earlier, my reasoning was more based on a somewhat ****** idealism than on the values of business.I think it is more than that. But it's true that Usyk deserves to be better exposed. Let's just hope he doesn't become a dìckhead after he gets some money in.

Usyk-Bellew is a one-way only fight. I think Usyk will beat and then retire Bellew.I think that there is a good chance that most of us (and that includes me) had slightly overrated Gassiev based on a couple of brutal knockouts.
That Bellew is an "emeritus champ" makes me laugh, to be honest. He is just a next-to-nobody with good connections, and that "title" means even less.
But i do think Gassiev would be even a tougher punishment for the 'Bomber'. Imo Gassiev could beat Usyk (whom i like a lot, btw), just remember the left hook landed in Usyk's chin at the end of rd4, should it have come a 30 secs before, probably today we would not be here talking about Usyk vs Bellew. 'Iron' has dynamite in both hands, he just could not figure Usyk out, during their fight, so i don't think he's overrated. He's a beast and very young (25), so its margin to improve is huge...Last edited by steady_p; 08-15-2018, 09:46 AM.Comment

Cant argue with anything you’ve said.I think that there is a good chance that most of us (and that includes me) had slightly overrated Gassiev based on a couple of brutal knockouts.

Bellew’s special power is being so irritating that he gets under the skin of even the most elite fighters.Comment

Yeah, let's hope. There are plenty of walking erections already in this sport. We don't need anymore right now!!
