When will Joshua hit his peak years?

because lets be honest, he may be the 3 belt champ but he is still learning and getting better and more refined with every fight and he has only had 21 of those so far lets not forget.he will be 29 in a few months but i think like Wlad he will hit his absolute peak few years at around the age of 31-32. Wilder better hurry up and get in there while there is still a glimmer of a chance for him because if he fights Joshua any time post mid 2019 i give him zero chance.

Funny how Tyson hit his prime at the young age of 22 but some guys get better in early 30s.

      Tyson was a one off.

Lewis, Wlad and Vitali are all good examples of big guys who got better with age. you can see AJ is still getting better and learning with every fight. he is learning he doesn't have to look for the KO to win, and his boxing skills will only improve the more championship rounds he gets under his belt.

I think that because of the expectation around AJ, his learning curve would be a lot higher than others so you may be right, 31/32 could see him be his most dangerous which would be scary dangerous considering his record already.

Not sure he was prime then, He was just discipline....Had he kept his same team around him he may have evolved more

I like Joshua but I think Klitschko took something out of that guy. He might be past it. I will see how he fights in the next 3 fights.

                Agree and disagree.

His newfound cautiousness means he won't have as many dominant victories.

But it also will allow him to not lose in the foreseeable future.

Does that mean he's plateaued? Depends on whether you're interested in KOs or Ws.

Now. His skills are good but I feel his style is built around being sensible defensively and then picking the moments to use his athleticism when he opens up on people. Throwing 2-3 shots in response to a lazy jab where most heavys wouldn't get off that quick. As he gets older I don't see his jab suddenly getting that much sharper or him using his gas tank any better.

RJJ, Tyson, Floyd, Wlad all needed to make adjustments to their style as they got older and their athleticism and not all did a great job of it. In a few years when AJ has slowed a bit is his skillset, ring IQ, going to be high enough to overcome issues when he faces younger, fresher, faster guys? IMO probably not.

Mostly though we can only guess, some guys decline because of too much punishment but others seem to go downhill earlier without there being no obvious reason.

He only has 21 fights and a few things to develope at 28/29 yrs old .

He wont hit his peak for awhile bc he has talent able to fight close or short range so hes going to not start putting everything together at least until his 26/27th fight .

His peak will last awhile too bc he will have adapted to any opponents style ,hes a 6'6 athlete /combination power puncher who is going to have total understanding of range making it that much more difficult to defeat him in which im guessing he'll still be undefeated in 2022 .
