It means stats on face value don't mean anything in terms of defining the fighters quality, Stats are only a list of winnings not a whisper of who they beat and what it took to beat them.

We perceive quality, while counting quantity.

Just for the record, Archie Moore had 219 fights, 186 wins, 132 KOs, 23 losses with 7 by KO, and 10 draws in a 27.5 year career. So let's not forget the Old Mongoose.
And Willie Pep was 229 wins, 11 losses, and 1 draw. So we can't forget him either.

In my opinion Robinson was just fighting for his basic survival. He was not truly prepared for most of his last fights. Just missing the adrenaline of the ring and the few hundred it can put in your pocket can be tempting when your out of cash. In my experience if you are not properly prepared and your lined with a nothin' burger than you just eat the ****. But if you get lined with a guy who can fight, and you arrive ill prepared for war than it could get ugly in a few rounds, once your gas tank is dry. Robinson was a man of class, in and out of the ring. He was just trying to survive financially at the end. Still, you just gotta love Ray Robinson...…..Rockin'

For sure I agree with you. But this is a discussion about stats. I did not live through his era so I can't really rank him but I respect that most view him as the GOAT

We dont agree that often but im 100% with you on this one, if floyd fought 180 odd fights, up to 22 times in one year with the training ideas of that era, the poor diets they thought worked, well im sure floyd wouldnt cope at all
