To answer this thread, stat wise - I'd say Henry Armstrong.

At one point he held 3 World Championships at the same time. 126, 135, 147 and almost won 160.

When there was one belt per division and 8 weight classes. Plus, same day weigh-in's. Ridiculous

W, L, Championships, Title defences, Ko's, Weight Classes fought in, Olympic medals all of that.
Fùck all those stats, the three best fighters to lace up the gloves are Robinson, Pep, and RJJ.

Ali in his prime wasn't that good. Don't get me wrong, Ali was a very good fighter, but his fans have turned him into a deity which in literature is called Reverse Euhemerization. Plenty of fighters were better than he was, for instance SRL was much more versatile and dynamic.

Lol Leonard got his style from Ali. How many heavyweights in history moved and fought as well as Ali in his prime?

And then look at what did after he came back from exile when the United States government took away his livelihood
