Crawford. If them two wanted it, it could happen. There's no need to build it cause it's never going to a huge box office fight.

No one gives a *** if you are moving up to fight a non-puncher.

Virgil Hunter is wrong on this point. I don't think Lomachenko ever really wanted to fight Rigondeaux but unfortunately some idiot fans were trying to create a narrative that Lomachenko was a ducker and Rigondeaux was this huge threat to him.
Before the fight was annoucned: Lomachenko: When I Beat Rigo, They'll Say I Beat an Old, Little Guy". "
After this fight was announced: Lomachenko haters: " Rigondeaux is too skilled/powerful, Loma is overhyped ect"
After Rigo quit: Lomachenko haters: "Loma deserves NO credit, Rigo was 37 and moving up too much in weight"
I haven't seen even close to as many people picking Mikey over Spence as I did Rigo over Loma so I'm hoping that this fight doesn't happen, its a mismatch just like Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux was.

Is Spence a former 135 lb fighter who moved up 2 weight classes himself ? And Rigo could have had the fight at 126 and turned it down..

Lomachenko may have been two weight classes higher but he had not long moved up from 126lbs. Spence is a BIG welterweight who is really more of a natural 154lber, so Garcia will essentially be moving up THREE weight classes from 135lbs. And yes, he may have fought at 140lbs before but he is clearly a natural 135lber.

The equivalent scenario here would have been Rigondeaux moving from his third weight class (130lbs) up to his fifth (140lbs) to take on the biggest guy there who is also hungry, undefeated and most people's number one in the division. Think Crawford before he moved up.

Imagine Rigo vs. Crawford. THEN you would have seen the same concern for Rigondeaux.

To put it simply, the two situations are not the same.
The difference is Rigo turned pro much later than Mikey. Rigo was still making 119lbs with SAME DAY WEIGH-INS at 26 years old. Rigo is a really small guy.

I see it like this. Rigo and his team harassed Loma for a long time before Loma said the hell with it. There was also a lot of public demand for it saying Loma was ducking etc. It was not until the last minute before the fight and after that the many who were saying Loma was going to lose, they they started calling it a cherry pick.

Rigo and Public Demand got what they wished for. In this case, nobody except Garcia himself is calling for the fight. I got no beef with Spence accepting the fight. If he didn't, he would get the same ducking claims that Loma went through.

I noticed a lot more concern for Rigo than Mikey, at least on this forum. And that's despite the even bigger difference in size and power when it comes to Spence/Mikey vs. Loma/Rigo.

Wow one of the realest posts I have read in a long time. Spence is just a coward weight bully who is fighting a guy that he will outweigh by at least 20 pounds.
