Of course he will. He's one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time and one of the best fighters of his generation (35 years).

I think for us who knew the entire story, issues and narrative in the entire length will forever stick to how we view him. Which will just be fair. Sooner or later though the new fans will just check the resumes and highlights on youtube, there is a huge chance he’ll be regarded even higher or in gigantic proportions in the future.

Floyd is already appreciated by many boxing fanboys around the world. He also has his fair share of fanboys.

          IVe thought about that.

Too many times, he took the easy way out. He even admits to picking and choosing his opponents carefully and fighting them at the right time.

and it's not like he made any of those fights fun to watch!

If you cherry pick, then the least you can do is not stink up the fight. Seriously, the fights where there was action, a majority of the time it was created by the opponent not Floyd!

He already has lots of fans that appreciate him very much. Some maybe a little too much. I think he is a great fighter with a great record but GOAT and TBE takes in every boxer who ever lived. I think some of the past boxers were a little bit better. As far as the haters go every great fighter gets some of those. Mayweather is extremely boastful and named himself TBE. Not every boxing fan likes that much arrogance. It's better to have others call you TBE or GOAT than to call yourself that. I don't think Henry Armstrong, Joe Louis or SRR ever declared themselves the best boxer in history. Even Ali said SRR was the master and his idol.

Even though I wasn't even born yet during Larry Holmes' prime days from the late 1970s-early 1980s, I have read many books, watched many youtube fight footages of him, and watched many documentaries about him and how many boxing fans used to hate Holmes since he brutally beat a severely declined Muhammad Ali, claimed that Rocky Marciano couldn't carry his jockstrap(implying that Marciano was overrated and Holmes himself was the superior boxer), and has basically been living under Muhammad Ali's shadows. It wasn't until near Larry Holmes' retirement and the very huge decline of the Heavyweight Boxing competition that fans started to like and appreciate him.

Do you the the same thing could happen with Floyd Mayweather Jr in the future now that he's once again retired since his McGregor fight?
I loved pretty boy dude was a beast! But money may is a sham! I’ve learned to appreciate Floyd for his skills and the way he was able to make a fortune his way but I don’t suck him off because he has plenty of ducks in his resume. That being said he still has a very impressive resume and had a great career. Enjoy retirement floydie

Mayweather 90s was exciting, then there was a lull in the 00s when hand injuries plagued him, adapted, shed his skin and came back as a wizard, culminating in the greatest defensive skills seen in a ring against Canelo, battered UFC's posterboy, got Merchant fired and last but not least made an entire nation weep. He'll be remembered for decades.
