  • Comments Thread For: Wilder: Joshua Won't Fight Me April 13th; Should Be Embarrassed

By Keith Idec - Deontay Wilder won't get his hopes up again. If Anthony Joshua beats Alexander Povetkin and he defeats Tyson Fury, Wilder is convinced Joshua won't fight him April 13, either. Joshua signed a contract for his next two fights to take place at Wembley Stadium in London, where Great Britain's biggest boxing star will make a mandatory defense of his WBA heavyweight title versus Povetkin on September 22...

Wilder is seriously deluded. Biggest hypocrite ever saying AJ doesn't take risks or fight tough opposition and champions should fight the best.

Wilder has made fighting bums and not taking risks an art form for over 50 fights!

Wilder is seriously starting to sound like the dumbest dude in boxing. You can't turn everything around and have everybody believe it. 40 fights, 1 decent name on his record. If anybody is scamming people in fights, it's Wilder. No unification fights in his 3 years. No top 20 opponents other than a 40 year old on heart medication that almost KOed him haha. Wilder says he wants a body on his record and that he wants to cripple Breazeale in front of his son, and yet AJ is the embarrassing one???? Then Wilder is trying to set up a fight with Fury when he KNOWS Fury is not ready to fight at a high level yet. Wilder and his groupie fans can talk all they want to but the fact is AJ has 4 belts, fights on PPV in front of 90k fans and he doesn't have to mention Wilder's name every interview just to get people to listen.

Also, demanding 50/50 for a fight where you have 1 belt and the other guy has 4 belts, brings in PPV and fights in front of 90k...that's the definition of ducking. 15 million is more than fair and if Wilder loses to Fury, he will get even less if AJ fights him after that. But if he had any balls, he would have signed the contract already.

I'm so sick and tired of Wilder's bluster and bombast. The bottom line is he doesn't want to risk his title in the U.K, where he might get on the wrong side of a decision.

By the same token, and understandably AJ probably doesn't want to travel to Vegas, I suspect not because he's worried about home cooking, but it makes more sense and dollars to fight in front of 90,000 fans instead of 15,000.

One of them has to travel, and I say the onus is on Wilder. AJ pulls in the crowds and holds 4 out of the 5 belts.

All this crap about fear is just Wilder's pathetic attempt to goad Joshua into signing a contract on his terms. Ain't gonna happen.

AJ has never faced a top 3 or 4 opponent ever. Wilder has twice.

AJ is a great fighter. I have him ranked #1 in the world. But Hearn has been careful to keep him away from the absolute best guys.
