kovalev has 5 top 5 wins while stevenson has 2(his best win coming off a ko loss). kovalev has 8 top 10 wins to stevenson 4. oh yeah and he got robbed against ward. how does stevenson have the upper hand? the jack fight wasn't a complete robbery like the ward fight and jack isn't as good as ward anyway.

No we're not. I hope he gets smoked again, which he likely will. His punch resistance is poor now, big shots frequently have him on jelly legs. Alvarez knows how to win now - survive the early rounds, take him into deep water and drown him. I can't see him suddenly improving his piss poor stamina at 35.

Hopkins was a good fighter many years before he fought Kovalev.

Pascal is an okay fighter and not more than that. He lost to Froch and grandpa Hopkins, remember?

As for Chilemba, Bellew's leftovers, than nah...

Bellew was a good win for Stevenson.

Kovalev didn't have to lose like that. He needs to work on moving away or tying up the opponent when he's been hurt. He tried to carry on fighting as if nothing had happened. He was in control and winning prior to getting countered on his lazy jab. He had Alvarez hurt at one point, but failed to follow through with the finish. He may take a tune-up fight, but I think he can beat Alvarez.

He's been exposed as a front runner. He can give it out but can't take it. His punch resistance looks to be poor now. He may have been up on the cards, but Alvarez said his plan was to take him into the second half of the fight, then catch him with something big. We saw the same thing in the Ward rematch when he was on jelly legs.
Alvarez knows how to beat him now, Kovalev isn't going to improve. Big shots will stagger him.

You should watch the fights. Ward defeated Kovalev twice. The results are official and your opinion is biased. If Ward was a ***** for being knocked down, then what does it make Kovalev that a featherfist knocked him out?
