That's not the same as giving him an actual HW title, and it's not really anything new. Throughout boxing history, if any one fighter clearly established himself as the undisputed best in his own division, he would always be given a shot at the champ in the division above, if he wanted it, because it would be a fight the fans wanted too.
The WBO just made it into a rule, and personally, I think it's a good rule. Anything that makes it harder for world champs to avoid fighting tough challengers is ok with me. And any fighter good enough to become a "super champion" by unifying a division has proved himself good enough to be a tough challenger for the champion in the division above.

Frank Warren is aligned with BT Sport that cannot really compete and is the second best PPV.
Also, in my opinion, Matchroom has a better stable that Warren and can produce the bigger audiences so if it was to be in the UK, you can't really look past an event being put on by Hearn and Matchroom because the ties and infrastructure to make big nights happen.
Can Frank Warren get Wilder/Fury, BJ Saunders, Selby and Frampton to fight on the same night? I'm not 100% but it seems unlikely.
After the Whyte/Parker event, its put Matchroom, Chisora and Whyte on the tongues of British boxing fans so obviously that's the events that people will want to go to. Just that alone, in my opinion, makes AJ the A side. I can't see Fury being the A-side regardless of a WBC title/lineal. AJ fans probably account for the majority of boxing fans in the UK, including casuals, to them; he is the man to beat regardless of the lineal because Fury isn't really relevant until he beats a decent opponent. 1 good win doesn't make you the A side, in my opinion, you need the fans, the infrastructure and the belts. AJ has all three, duck or no duck.
I'm sure some fans will think otherwise.
Still, with Wilder-Fury in Las Vegas (Davis vs Farmer as the chief support works), you could also book Frampton vs Galahad to headline a show in the UK (could have Liam Smith, Jack Catterall, DuBois, etc under that).
Pair the two events.

Wilder is a genius.
Hearn - check mate.

3 years is a long time for a fighter as old as Ortiz!
There's a weird kind of circular reasoning being used to build up both Wilder and Ortiz ... we know Wilder is good because he KO'd Ortiz, and we know Ortiz is good because he almost KO'd Wilder.
That makes no sense to me. We won't know how good either of them are till one of them fights somebody like a Chisora or a Whyte.
Whyte has the worst balance I have ever seen on a fighter. Wilder is a close second though. Having said that I wouldn’t be surprised if Whyte beat Ortiz but Wilder will put them both to sleep. No way I’m attaching my name to those two. This is a mission you are going to have to go it alone...Good luck

1 How do you come to the figure of 100 million being wiped out regardless who wins
2 How is Wilder a genius ?
3 How on earth is it checkmate for Hearn? Surely you understand what checkmate means

I don't remember Povetkin getting knocked down much before the Klitschko fight (what was that--8 times?), then got floored by a glorified journeyman in Price. You can talk about Price's power all you want, but the skillset didn't match it. It's all subjective in this discussion anyway, bud.Originally posted by King Arthur View PostNot quite bud in regards to klitschko theory before chisora koed takam after the aj fight. Povetkin had already destroyed takam before the aj fight so why didnt aj destroy him after pov?

Beating a compromised Fury will put Wilder in a great position to demand top dollar to fight Joshua. Tyson would be ill-advised to face Wilder after only two tune-up fights.
