Idk bro. I think his chin has been dented enough that he will potentially get wobbled on any big shot. Kinda reminds me of Cody Garbrandt over the weekend in that the chins look like they may damaged beyond repair.
Yeah you might be right about that. Possible that these three consecutive knockdowns took something away from Kovalev. I was sad seeing it live.
Naw, the hungry probably isnt there like it used to be so his sharpness prbably not like it used to but that due to more laziness etc but lets be real about him getting stopped, once you get caught no matter how much heart you have etc etc theirs really nothing you can do about it except try and survive till your body recovers.
I wouldn't say shot just yet. However he is definitely on the decline and showing all the early signs of a shot fighter like: Loss of stamina, reflexes, the normal snap on his punches etc.
A monkey can see he was done in that fight. In the first 2 rds he was plodding forward and not throwing any combos. The old kovalev was bouncing around the ring in angles and thirowing non stop combos. Pascal 1 and 2. This kovalev just stands in front of you hands down waiting to get hit.
Not shot to bits but his time is up at the real top level now.
He could still beat some decent fighters right now but the decline has definitely set in. He will be a gatekeeper in a couple of years if he's still fighting.
