Kovalev - Biggest hypejob of all times?

I think Kovalev's story is sort of reflective of the way boxings become now. He started in his mid 20's, didn't start fighting top competition until 30, and then fought twice a year from that point. Sooner or later the physical decline's going to come, for most boxers it's early to mid 30's, and he hasn't done half of what he could have achieved. He's now hit the physical wall and hasn't achieved half of what he could haveComment

Wouldn’t go that far.Who's his best win?
A 73 year old Bhop?
Living off one knockdown of Ward in a fight he was completely schooled in after round 5.
Then proceeded to get nearly ko'd by a pillow puncher in Ward and QUIT in the rematch.
Didn't take a rocket scientist to work out if Ward could hurt him and make him quit what would someone who could actually throw a hurtful punch do to him?
He's lucky Chickenson ducked him or else he'd have ended the hypejob there and then.
Definition of a hypejob was "Krusher"
Overrated - may be, but even then he was a beast and feared.
Ward took his soul.Comment

I don't think you can really call a guy who reached the peak of his division a "hype job", but I do think he's been found out now. I think his performances in the ring were affected by his reputation, as in his opponents used to be afraid of him and fought cautiously, but now that his reputation as an unstoppable russian psycho monster has been dispelled after being beat, guys are having more courage to stand up and take the fight to him.Comment
