Actually a Breazeale win doesn't do much for Wilder's legacy at all. He is a mandatory everyone fully expects to dispatch, probably quicker than the 7 rounds it took Joshua. I find it hilarious the arc that Breazeale has gone thru on this forum. He is trash when Wilder is going to fight him instead of Dillian, who is also trash. But, he is a great win for AJ. Then he is trash again when Wilder may fight his mando instead of AJ. But now he is the best option for Wilder when a mega-fight with Fury seems to be a done deal.
I really wish some of you would make up your minds on Breazeale.
And no, Klitschko didn't have the issues Fury had...his situation was worse from a boxing standpoint.
It's one thing to deal with addiction and mental health, but those can be dealt with and overcome.
Quite another to be a fading fighter, a guy father time is catching up to. They call it washed up for a reason. Once you are done you are usually done in this sport and as good as Wlad looked vs AJ, that doesn't mean he was back...it could simply mean AJ was not skilled enough to expose that age. But Jennings was skilled enough in a loss and Fury was skilled enough in a win. Two years of bad showings and no tune-up yet we are supposed to believe AJ beat some great version of Klitschko?
I sure don't and no one who claims to be logical and objective should either.
Hell yes I compare the two, but no I do not equate them. I think Fury's situation may be better, not worse than Wlad's
It may turn out Wilder faces a better version of Fury than we think. And whoever wins the fight will deserve credit for beating a legit opponent.
