Great news. They probably get at just 80-100 million a year to budget

Boxing winning huge. ESPN/FOX now all in on boxing. Good times for the often times dismissed sport..A good friend of mine with lots of knowledge..also a promoter and great insider told me: Hey Fer, Al already signed with Fox, he came to LA to sign deal the other day...huge deal (filling UFC's space)...but this time around, he will not announce it! That will be the Al I know

Interesting if true, but not total surprise. FOX was the only network from the big ones that Haymon had a chance to secure. Lets see if we hear more about this in upcoming days.
And I've thought for at least a year FOX would partner with PBC. They were just waiting for the UFC situation to be hammered out.
Makes perfect sense..Last edited by BWC; 08-02-2018, 09:54 AM.Comment

FS1 is fine, but what I'm more interested in is if the budget increases for the FOX prime time cards. It would be huge if we can get Garcia vs Thurman type of fights on FOX. The ratings for PBC on FOX have been bad, but the type of fights that are being shown at the current moment aren't exactly mouth watering match ups.Comment

I think (or hoping) that we'll get fights like Fox started with. Garcia-Thurman and those names and the fights PBC were *****g on NBC, CBS when this thing was starting out.FS1 is fine, but what I'm more interested in is if the budget increases for the FOX prime time cards. They have been done playing out the string but now maybe they have a new deal. If it is a quarterly show and that is it then its not a big deal. Hopefully they can do more than Devon Alexander vs Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz LOL.
The FS1 cards aren't big fights but if they can get back to what they had last year they are perfect for their up and coming guys but they have only had a few shows this year on FS1. They need that for guys to graduate to ShowtimeComment

That would be great and keep some of these guys a bit busier. SHO put on some very good cards this year but they have a budget so they had to slow down a bit. That's where FOX could come though and take over during those slow stretches.
Espinoza isn't going to be happy losing some of his main guys to FOX though. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.Comment

Don't worry, it ain't happening. They're dead like you said. They have been done playing out the string but now maybe they have a new deal. If it is a quarterly show and that is it then its not a big deal. Hopefully they can do more than Devon Alexander vs Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz LOL.

Just like Shawn Porter is leaving. Keith Thurman too.
And more people.

Didn’t make sense to give them those kind of fights until the deal was finalized. Thurman-Garcia peaked at 5.1 million viewers. No question, there will be more fights like that on free TV going forward.FS1 is fine, but what I'm more interested in is if the budget increases for the FOX prime time cards.
