The only way that a lineage gets re-established, and this isn't something new, is to have a single champion being the only recognized champion, and that didn't happen since Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko weren't ever going to fight each other (even though it's pretty clear that Vitali would've won, imo).

Wladimir was the top heavyweight, but he was never lineal
Once vitali retired Wlad became lineal. He was undisputed heavyweight champion of the world & it was organisational politics & Wilder's inexperience that prevented him holding all belts

Spence likely fights Danny Garcia December/January (possibly on PPV), and Mikey will likely have to take on a lesser fight in November/December (likely as the co-feature to Wilder) before trying to get the Lomachenko-Beltran winner in early 2019.

A PPV in November, and a PPV in January, after not having to pay for a single PPV, outside of Mayweather-McGregor, for three years of great boxing, isn't a bad deal.
No way Danny fights Spence in December. First of all no guarantee he beats Porter.

Mikey fighting on a co-feature Wilder headlining? Not happening.

Hey, I'm fine with paying for some PPVs myself as long as the match ups are worthy of that. Wilder vs Fury and GGG vs Canelo fit that bill. Then Mikey vs Spence does on name value and just the spectacle of Mikey trying to do something special by beating arguably THE guy at WW.

You can't just "become" lineal champion by osmosis lol.

Given that reasoning that means no one can ever be lineal ever again as long as boxing is in existence, which isn’t the case.

            I assure you he was.
“If the lineal champion retires, dies or moves to another division, the vacancy is typically filled by a box-off between two or more top-ranked contenders.
The third and most recent interruption of the heavyweight lineage came in 2004, when Lennox Lewis retired and vacated the championship. Only when Wladimir Klitschko knocked out Ruslan Chagaev in June 2009, adding The Ring magazine title to his IBF and WBO belts, did a recognized heir to the lineage emerge. Klitschko defended his WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring magazine heavyweight titles on Nov. 10 with a unanimous-decision win over Mariusz Wach at the O2 World Arena in Hamburg, Germany. It marked Klitschko's 13th title defense.”

It was an open secret that wlad & viatli would never fight. Once vitali retired the debate was over. Wlad was the man.

              Try harder fella..

Neither wilder or fury would risk fighting each other and losing before AJ payday.
Interesting... we shall see I suppose.

Bernard was lineal champion at 160, Floyd was lineal champion at 147, Crawford was lineal champion at 140, Usyk is lineal champion at 200. Hagler was lineal champion, Tyson was lineal champion, etc.

If we really sat down and looked, you could find at least 10 times when a title lineage was re-established.

Why act as if it's some impossibility?

You still have to seal the deal. The WBC is still there, and Wladimir never held it.
