He cant offer Ortiz a fight bc hes not ranked outside the WBC , how many times has this this been told to you ??

What makes it so? How bout a non-title fight then? So are you saying that champion cannot make a voluntary defense against non ranked sanctioned fighter?

Joshua cannot fight an unranked fighter .

Why would Joshua fight a NON title fight and why on earth would anyone fight hi m without a title on the line ?

In Wilders WBC you HAVE to fight a top 15 guy AS champion , unless you are fighting another champion . It would be like Wilder calling out Miller knowing he isnt ranked in the WBC ( im actually surprised he hasnt , thats a freebee for him . lol )

If Joshua had no better options for more lucrative fights then yes but the reality is Joshua can make more money vs a variety of different opponents.

He could fight Whyte, that fight would be huge right now, maybe only Wilder and Fury would be bigger fights for Joshua.

Even Chisora would be more lucrative, he's riding high off KOing Takam faster than Joshua and he's great at promoting fights so would likely draw in a lot of UK casual fans. Would be a Apollo Creed vs Rocky Balboa underdog type fight but could easily do more than Ortiz.

Fact is Ortiz is a top heavyweight, but he's in the who needs him club. Too much risk for far too little reward. He can't speak English so can't even promote a fight very well because of the language barrier. Any good promoter would weight up the risk vs reward and pick one of the countless other more sensible options. Sucks for Ortiz but it is the way it is, Ortiz like Wilder wasted many years fighting nobodies and is paying the price further down the line for the lack of foresight and ambition.

Only real thing going for Ortiz is the WBC changed their mind as is willing to make Whyte/Ortiz a mandatory shot that takes priority over Breazeale's mandatory. That might convince Hearn Whyte/Ortiz makes sense but then now that Whyte is a proven PPV draw and the far bigger A-side we again have the situation where the risk/reward doesn't make sense.

AJ is going to be so tied up with so many mandatory title defenses by April of 2019, that a voluntary defense outside of a Deontay Wilder bout is just isn't possible.

AJ has already said his career isn't determined by what the people want...so why would he care what "they" say? lol
