I don’t think that fight would be in the pipeline or should it be, you have to make connections and calculations when making future fights, Ortiz has no positive connection to this scenario, Whyte has a positive momentum, 8 straight wins since he lost to Joshua, just coming off his first PPV, he is also signed with Hearn, so unless Ortiz brings something else that we don’t know I doubt anyone would be interested in him fighting Joshua with 100,000 people in April.

I'm a Wilder fan. But AJ fighting Ortiz is absolute insanity. I'm amazed he's fighting Povetkin to be quite honest.

As much as I bag on Team Joshua, this Povetkin fight is far more dangerous than it would appear.

So even though they didn't give us the fight we all want to see, at least AJ is fighting a relatively live body. So I'll give him credit for that.
