Having a PPV platform (Did well or not) is better than having none.

Having a ppv "platform" means you have a fanbase that consistently buys fights featuring you. One ppv fight doesn't create a platform. Further, being on one ppv that bombed is no better and arguably worse than having never been on ppv.

Now that I think about it I like your suggestion. Ortiz/Whyte would make a great undercard fight for Wilder/AJ and set up the next fight.

Having a PPV platform is a start. You would never know if you don't try. For the money Whyte commands it safe to say even if his PPV bombed the networks would not lose any money on the event. So Yeah having one is better than not having any in this case.

I'm unfamiliar with the money Whyte commands. If purses are guaranteed, and the ppv bomb, how does the network or promoter not lose money?

Also how does saying I was on ppv once increase a fighters negotiation position if the ppv was a flop. Wouldn't it hurt as the opposition would say there is proof that you don't bring ppv value. At least if you haven't been on ppv you force both sides to rely on projections.

He is on PPV and you would hope the PPV doesn't "Bomb".
Being on PPV for a fighter like Whyte who doesn't command £10M is a bonus for everyone involve because even if the PPV doesn't sell it would mean the networks doesn't lose too much money.

And PPV rarely "Bomb" in the UK, so its a bonus getting himself on the ladder than not getting himself on it.

If am trying to get on the property ladder and i was able to get a mortgage for a property. It puts me in a better position than someone else who is renting.

So yeah Whyte has definitely put himself in a better position by this PPV, especially if it exceed all expectations.

Even if he sells 10,000 PPV its more money than it showing it for free. And he can go to Joshua and said i have just sold 10,000 homes.... Oppose to none.
