Punches has nothing to do with angles? Is that what you're saying?!? And you're calling me the ****** one?Originally posted by Smokin'You're so ****ing ******. An uppercut is an uppercut. It has nothing to do with angles. Angles are shifting your weight. THey have nothing to do with how you punch.
You can either 'loop' your punches, or throw them straight. Nothing to do with angles.
Boxing is pretty much a sport of angles... From which stance you choose (orthodox or southpaw) right there it generates a different angle.
Your opponent leaning forward, generates a different angle (shifting body weight like you said)
Also PUNCHES can have unconventenial angles to them as well, sometimes you see a cross between a hook and an uppercut, and overhand and a hook, etc. Angles in boxing is not only limited to where you position your body weight.Comment

Chop is my man. I think he's better then alot of people give him credit for. I was talking to him on the phone when he was in Camp for the Zab fight and he talked a big game but came out shy. I knew he would go all out against Floyd & Cotto but came up just short. Dude has mad skill though and I always thought he had the body where he could drop down to 135 and I thought he could be the Champ thereOriginally posted by UndefeatedCorley is not known as a puncher but that dude has hidden strength lol..
Nah.. Corley caught Mayweather good. Corley has fast hands. And what you can't see will hurt you. Like in the Cotto fight. Who wouldn't get hurt by that punch? Right on the temple. Look how clean that **** was and fast!

Watch a sweatpea fight, and you will know what an angle is. Hell, watch a Hatton fight.
Angles has nothing to do with how you punch. ****, have you ever boxed? You either throw your punches straight, or looped. Nothing to do with angles, sorry dude. Honestly, you're trying to tell me that the way you position your arm creates an angle. You're wrong, just man up and admit it.Comment

I like Chop too. He lacks a killer instinct though. He's an olympian, so he's got crazy skill but he can't finish guys like the greats. Even Floyd early in his career could finish guys with a defensive style (Manfredy). Corley looked out of his element trying to finish Mayweather, Cotto.Originally posted by DLTChop is my man. Of course your arm creates an angle...
Are straight punches not at an angle? 180 degrees (usually)
Loopy punches can vary anywhere between 145-45 degrees
and Uppercuts are usually around 90 degrees...
How can you say that punches don't produce angles???Comment
