Why is Whyte a dog against Parker?

Matchroom fighter headlining a Matchroom card. Hearn has been promoting Whyte pretty hard too. I'm having trouble seeing Whyte as a dog. I haven't seen much of either guy, but Whyte looks better than Parker and on his home court no less.

    Anybody got the scoop here?

It's because they think Parker has the better boxing skills.

      1. Eye test.
-Whyte is the classic educated brawler: sloppy technique, poor footwork, no defensive slickness - although he does have a surprisingly decent jab, and clearly has a lot of heart and determination.
      - Parker may not look like the greatest fighter in the world but he clearly has boxing pedigree and has a decent amateur background - he puts his punches together well, has a boxer's footwork, and reasonable defensive instincts. Moreover, he's clearly the much, much faster guy, in both handspeed and footspeed and is simply a better athlete all around.

      2. Resume.
      - Although Whyte's resume may look OK on the surface, the reality is that he's been well matched: he never fights guys who can move, only ever taking fights with guys who stand in front of him as boxing bags. The one exception to that was Helenius, who made Whyte look ridiculous for most of that fight but simply gased out as he took the fight on 2 weeks notices.
      - Parker on the other hand has gone through the rankings in a stepwise manner, first stepping up to world level in a tough fight against a skillful, well-rounded Carlos Takam. He's fought slick guys who can move like Hughie Fury. Guys who come forward, move their head and duck and weave like Andy Ruiz Jr (his toughest fight IMO). Even someone like Alexander Dimitrenko, who's borderline European/world level, has a decent boxing pedigree and Parker disposed of him pretty easily.

Don't get me wrong, I like the fight. But there are some clear reasons why Whyte is the underdog here.

Whyte is going to have to really rock Parker to get a decision because if it’s 12 uneventful rounds, I doubt Whyte can outscore Parker

Another reason why many are picking Parker over Whyte is because Joseph went the distance with Joshua whereas Dillian was stopped by AJ.

Parker went the full 12 with AJ and won a few rounds. Whyte hurt AJ but AJ knocked him out. Parker has never been knocked down. Parker is faster than Whyte and has a better defense. It won't determine the winner but Parker is better looking than Whyte who is ugly.

Because he's a low skill level former kick boxer?
