what does being a huge favorite have to do with anything? im sure broner was a huge favorite over maidana. i guess that makes maidana a great fighter now since he won a fight where he was the big underdog? its going to be hard to be in those type of fights when people hype the crap out of you. usually you only get a couple chances like that in your entire career. a sugar ray vs hearns style showdown. leonard happened to have 5 of those which is why hes great. floyd zero. mikey has loma so lets see if he can get one.
Is Mikey on a HOF trajectory?

Keep this in mind, every big title Mikey has won, he beat the champion for that title. Mikey has yet to go out there a win a vacant title like many other top fighters. He is a 4 division champ by beating a champion in every division. There's a lot of fighters who have won belts in a number of divisions, but some of those were vacant. If Mikey never fights above 140 he will easily make it. The only guy with a chance at lightweight is Loma (Loma would be favored too). At 140, Prograis is the only guy with a real chance. Below 147, there just isn't much talent. He is a 4 division champ. If he never moves up to ww, I can only see him losing to Loma and possibly Prograis (which would be one of the best fights that could be made. Both guys stand in the pocket and ****, it would be action-packed). A 4 division champ with something like a 40-2 record is HOF. If he moves up to 147, he will need to beat someone good there.
The only name I've heard him call out is Spence. And he has been saying he wants to fight him after Easter. No reason to doubt that. He was asked about Cotto, and he woulda fought him, but he refused to sign his career over to ODLH. Same as Spence. He has answered questions about Loma saying he wants to fight him, and Loma and Arum have answered questions about Mikey with yea, but not until next year at the earliest.
He should answer questions about who he wants to fight with "I'm just focused on my next fight, right now." Instead he says what I believe to be the truth. He wants to fight the best, because he honestly believes he can beat the best.
Two fights ago, he moved up in weight to fight Broner. A smart career move, no doubt. Broner is probably the biggest name at 140 (though not the best). After that he fought the only guy with a belt at 140 for a title in his fourth division. He was supposed to fight Linares after that, but Linares backed out on their agreement. So he is instead fighting the next best at 135, in a unification bout. If Mikey beats Easter and doesn't make any real effort to fight Spence or some other top fighter next, I will be with everyone else, that he says names with no intention of fighting them. But I don't know who everyone thinks Mikey should have been fighting. Everyone cried that he was fighting the only guy with a belt at a higher division. So, he went back down to 135 and is fighting the best that will fight him. I don't understand why anyone doubts that he wants to fight best.Comment

Is Crawford HOF material already because he hasn't really beaten any top name other than a overhyped Gamboa. Yes he was undisputed at 140, but he didn't face and beat any elite fighter for those titles. It's on par with what Mikey has done to be a 4 division champ. I think both Crawford and Mikey are in the same boat.
dont forget to put lomachencko in that boat tooComment

I agree with Loma as well. People automatically put him in because of the number of fights. They just fail to mention his age. Loma is talented no question, but what kind of fighter would he be now if he turned pro at 18 or 19. Would he be as dominate as he is now? Big difference fighting 5 years as an amateur and 5 years as a pro with no headgear and longer rounds.Comment

yeah lipinets was an amazing win cause he held the belt. oh wait who did lipinets beat for the belt? some rando guy no one had ever heard of? cool! that makes it soooo much better.Keep this in mind, every big title Mikey has won, he beat the champion for that title. I think both are. I think it's not fair to judge an opponent based on where the ended up, but where they were. It's like Chavez beating Taylor or Duran beating Davey Moore. Is Crawford HOF material already because he hasn't really beaten any top name other than a overhyped Gamboa. Yes he was undisputed at 140, but he didn't face and beat any elite fighter for those titles. It's on par with what Mikey has done to be a 4 division champ. Moore or Taylor didn't end up a HOF'er but when Duran and Chavez beat them they were 2 of the best in the sport.Comment

Loma in that same boat. LOOOLLLLL, that statement is so wrong, its laughable.
Mikey's resume is incomparable to Loma's resume.
Loma didnt just *talk* about Linares, he fought him. Russell, Axeman, Rigo...and he's done this in 5 years in the game.
So what if he stayed out of the pros until he was older? True, by staying amateur, he may have avoided a loss when he was still green (as what happened w/ Siri). But what matters to me is that once he turned pro - HE MAKES GOOD FIGHTS, w/ challenging opponents.
Mikey's got 10 years in and his resume will be Siri, Broner & (hopefully) Easter. In half the time, Loma has done twice as much as Mikey.
AND LOOOLL at whoever said that Broner will be in the HOF.Comment

Mikey has largely fought bums while Loma has moved up multiple times in a short period of time and taken on fighters that were legitimately expected to give him trouble and/or beat him. Crawford was undisputed at 140, which is an achievement Mikey may never accomplish at any weight class. Diminishing the accomplishments of Loma/Crawford to boost Mikey's resume is not going to work.Comment

I could say the same of any of your favorite fighters. Look at who AJ has beaten for the IBF and WBO titles? Look at who Canelo beat for the WBO and WBC titles at 154. Look at GGGs titles, he was handed 2 of them and beat Lemieux for the other. Kovalev just beat some bum for a title. Loma beat a guy Mikey had already KOd and Linares who was beating on Euro bums after gettting KOd. Same thing with Pac and other fighters.Comment

The thing is I really like Mikey. Very talented fighter.
I even like that he controls his career so carefully. A fighter has a right to control his career - refuse options, not be tied to a promoter. Im down with that.
But Im not gonna give him credit for who he ***calls out*** like some of you seem to do. Talking about him fighting Spence, Bud & Loma, lol.... when his best wins are Broner & (hopefully) Easter.
Damn, some of you need to be a little more cynical.
If Mikey were to beat Easter, Linares & even just fight well v Loma, that would be HOF-worthy.... If he beat Prograis or Ramirez, also. Hopefully he goes this route and doesnt cherry pick easier opponents.
As for Spence... sorry y'all, I'll believe it when I see it, LOL.Comment
