His problem has been over-thinking in the ring, instead of just letting his punches go and banking on his power. The reason I say this is that Price, imo, doesn't have the reaction speed to be the kind of boxer/puncher he wants to be.

And, unfortunately for him, he also doesn't have the kind on chin that a HW with only average reaction speed needs to compete at world level.
For sure. It's mostly mental with Pricey. He gets flustered, panics and doesn't really know how to control his emotions in there. He isn't actually that unfit, her gasses because of the mental stress more than anything.

Manny Stewart said back in the day that he thought he wasn't tough enough mentally and that he thought Fury had more of a fighters mindset.

Beyond the mental aspects, Pricey just isn't that good. Huge power in the right hand but too stiff, too slow and too vulnerable. Unfortunately he just doesn't have the skills to be world level. Nice guy though.

Because Pricey ended up in a familiar position - flat on his back and out cold - most people didn't pick up on the fact that this was a different Pricey than the guy who ended up in the same position against, eg, Erkan Teper.

Price looked gun-shy against Teper, backing off behind a weak, pawing jab while Teper was walking him down. I didn't see a single punch thrown with "bad intention" by Price against a very hittable opponent in Teper.

He was throwing with real bad intention against Povetkin, and he got up and carried on doing it after being decked. Fighting like that, Price can win fights and titles at domestic and European level, and they will be exciting fights, the kind of fights that people will pay to see more of.
Precisely! I don't think anybody is claiming Price is going to be beating Wilder or Joshua anytime soon, but people claiming his career was over are sorely mistaken. This guy has changed from the dude that lost to Thompson, Teper and Hammer. There are now a ton of european level and fringe world level HW's that I would pick Price to beat at this stage. After what should be a very easy touch on Friday I want to see him fight The Highlander next!! Then move onto Euro level guys after that.

Gotta appreciate Pricey's attitude and work ethic. Tons of fighters are way worse than him in those depts. That being said, IMO fighting 2nd tier opponents are his future. Maybe a minor belt as a goal. But then, he certainly dropped Povetkin last fight, and that rarely (ever?) happens. I'll always wish him well and hope he can get some W's.

Price towered over Fury when they met recently, even though he’s listed an inch or so shorter. He’s an absolute beast of a human who unfortunately cannot take 1 clean shot to the chin and his career seems firmly stuck in the Corrie Sanders era. Shame really.
Agreed. The dude had massive potential. I couldn't believe how much bigger he was than Fury.
