Comments Thread For: David Price: I Want To Get This Win, Hope For Something Bigger

Huge-hitting heavyweight David Price is keen to serve up a reminder of his finishing power when he returns to action at Bolton's Macron Stadium on Saturday. The former British and Commonwealth champion tops the MTK Manchester bill just four months after a titanic clash with No. 1-ranked Alexander Povetkin at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

Anybody know who he is fighting?

I'm surprised the BBBoC have allowed him back into the ring less than 6 months after such a butal KO?

I admire his desire and but I surely his family, friends and team should be advising him to call it a day and get a job coaching; hell even due to his size he could make some money as a sparring partner too!

I have to echo your sentiments but how do you persuade a guy like Price, who lives and breathes the sport, to call it a day. He can be a handful but against any top 20 heavyweight there’ll only be more brutal ko’s.

He needs to pack it in. Shown time and again he’s never going to be at the level he wants to be

Price should go full Wlad Klitschko and start using a fighting style to prolong his career as long as possible.

Everybody is going to eat their words about Price. He was reborn against Povetkin, he is now "The Gunslinger", the next few years we are going to get the best Price we've ever seen. I won't be surprised if he wins a European title or even more

Look, I hear what you say, and I honestly like the guy.

But what convinces me of the contrary is his psychology. Price is terrified whenever the first bell approaches. He fights mentally mired, he's physically rigid and always ready to be knocked out any minute.

I wish I can eat my words as you say, but I honestly fear for his health if he keeps fighting.

But he wasn't when fighting the most dangerous fight of his career against Povetkin. He went balls to the wall and showed a ton of heart, even coming out after that KO with a renewed level on confidence he hasn't had since before the first Thompson fight. If he is matched correctly he can still have success in the upper echelon of the HW division
