The idea that one has to fight in Vegas to validate their career is BS

But you replied to a question about money. Weird.

So what does being in Vegas do for anyones memories of these fights?

Nothing. You are just looking for the hype of the fight. There have been many, many, many duds in Vegas. So whats so great about a shiny turd?
Buster Douglas ending Tyson, in front of 25k people at Caesar's Palace, whether he won another fight after that or not, would've had that performance memorialized in the canon of boxing, alongside the Ali's phantom punch, the rope-a-dope, and Foreman's KO of Michael Moorer, among other moments.

      Downplay that if you want

Its already as memorable though. Its the greatest upset in sports history. Being in Vegas does not change that.

Just say that like a casual fan, you enjoy the hype surrounding Vegas.

I care because I am a fan of the sport and want boxers to get as much possible because this is an incredibly dangerous career that could cost them their life.

So when you pay for a ticket or ppv, do you throw down a little extra? Or just the asking price?

If you really cared about the health of the participants, you wouldnt partake at all. Im just saying, sounds kind of weird to pay money to watch people beat eachothers head for entertainment but at the same time say you care about their health.

Even talking about money in this thread is stupid. Has nothing to do with money. The location of the fight adds no value to who wins and loses. I think you agree.

No, just the asking price. But that is a separate issue.

I didn't post it was about health. I posted that since they risk their lives, I want them to get as much as possible.

Location does add value in the sense that winning in a arena with history gives the winner more notoriety. Also, many posters give fighters that win "on the road" a extra bump.

Prove that Duran beating Leonard in Vegas would give him more notoriety. Prove that Ali beating Foreman in Vegas would give him more notoriety. Prove that Douglas beating Tyson for the biggest upset in all of sports history would give him more notoriety.

Come on Dude, those are fights between HOF'ers and are special fights. Those fights also occurred years ago, I think we can agree things are different now.

What I'm saying is part of what makes Ali Frazier such and event was that it was in MSG. Posting that doesn't mean every fight has to be in MSG or that if a great fight didn't occur in MSG that it wasn't great.

Part of being the biggest draw in the sport is the ability to headline an event in the fight capital of the world. Headlining a big event in Vegas and bringing out the stars can show that you have transcended the sport to a degree.

AJ pulling that off would cement him as the face of the sport. I'm not in any way suggesting he has to then abandon England and fight exclusively in Vegas.

usyk would be at HW if he wanted to challenge himself and make the most money. that's the idea that the TS is getting at, he's just wrong about it. if he wanted to be the best and make the most money he'd be trying to fight anthony joshua or deontay wilder.

if you want to make the most money and challenge yourself typically those fights take place in las vegas, where a casino will pay you to host the fight, and where bernard hopkins vs joe calzaghe outsold joshua - klitschko at the gate.
