I have no problem with what Thurman is doing. He's had injuries (which suck), and needs a tuneup coming off a long break. He gave up the title already. There's nothing to whine about.

Thurman is probably a good guy, but I lost some respect for him as a fighter back when he refused to fight Errol Spence in order to fight Mayweather... It was a quite good win to take Danny Garcia's zero, though.

Because Thurman wasn’t just asking for a tune up, at the time when he was coming back he was asking for a year’s worth of tuneups and THEN he’d discuss the fight. That’s like 3-4 fights bruh. If you’re not ready now at his age he never will be. Spence isnt going to lose in his next 3-4 or move up...which is how it came off.

He is injured though and that sucks but it is what it is.

There is nothing wrong with taking a long time off as long as you don't hang on to titles you aren't going to defend. Thurman has been out too long to still be considered the man at welterweight when Spence is knocking guys out2 or 3 times a year. Mayweather went two years without ever defending his 2 world titles at 154. That was wrong but he got away with it because he was Mayweather. He should have vacated his 154 pound titles he never intended to defend. Instead he kept those titles hostage. The alphabet groups let him do it because they wanted him as their champion.

For some reason I thought it was the other way around but I just saw the Pac fight is going to be for the interim wba belt so he’s going to get stripped for retiring and acting like he didn’t.

Why in the hell would you mention any of these fighters in the same sentence as Mayweather??? and is Thurman coming back at 154 with the promise to fight the top guy there?? or even at 147 to fight Spence?

Floyd came back and fought world champs and top p4p fighters..lets hope Thurman does the same
