If he's injured and needs a break, fine. Take a break. You gotta hand over that belt however so that the rest of the boxing world can move on...

If i remember correctly ward had a couple of periods out of the ring (one to lose 3 times in court to a man with terminal cancer)

End of the day thurmans got the best wins at welterweight whether the LDBC crew like it or not. That will only change if spence and crawford pull their fingers out and decide to fight somebody. Spence has got one good win but he needs another. And as for crawford,no, beating jeffrey horn does not make you 'the man' of the division
floyd and ward had a good resume already before their break, thurman fights mostly bums... to me, him not fighting makes no difference, he hardly has relevant fights, so not that he will be missed... but thats just my opinion..

I don't think anyone is going to blame Thurman for taking a break. But just don't hold the belts hostage, vacate and whenever you're done from your break fight for them again. Besides, it's a not a break according to him. It's nagging injuries that have kept him out of the ring. Even then after more than a year of inactivity he should definitely let others fight for the belts.

Thurman outwits Crawford for a decision win but Spence a different story. He has to be hitting awfully hard & pulling out all the stops on Spence. Should have got him inexperienced (as Mikey’s assuming at the moment. Like Floyd schooled inexperience Canelo.

His position as a title holder and his young age makes it unacceptable for him to take a break. Wtf are you talking about? It’s like muthafuxka you aint Floyd mayweather, pacquiao or a once a decade level fighter. Thurman is good but far from special and he cant be wasting his prime years like this.

Way too long out of the ring to hold any of the belts without a defence.
Its like he thinks cause he beat Porter and Garcia thats all he needs.
Either come back for a unification or **** off.

I think people were mad because he was holding up the Welterweight division. He doesn't have a belt now so that's not the case and the other fighters in the division can move on with out him.
