So it was mainly me just wanting to stay hydrated and not have to focus on the little things, even though I respect this boxing game. I respect all [sanctioning bodies] and their rulings.

“But for me, I really wanted to focus on this fight. And we had a game plan. We wanted to make sure we used our size and we had the best possible nutrition that we can. And waking up early, for me, was just a hard thing to do. Not because we were overweight, but I didn’t wanna have an issue whatsoever.”

it wasn't a predetermined thing for weeks or months prior to the fight, he gave no indication whatsoever he was going to do it. it was a last minute tactic to gain an advantage. dont give off the image that he never turned around prior to the bout and gave all assurances that he would respect the individual rules of each sanctioning body belt that was on the line.

Props to both guys for making this fight despite the circumstances. These are the type of fights that divisions need instead of all the top 5 guys wanting a shot at the money guy while fighting overmatched opposition.

have you seen charlos resume...ggg fought the top 2 guys while he was waiting for the wbc mandatory. charlo is fighting bums while waiting. ggg built himself into a guy who sold 20k seats before fighting canelo. charlo still fights on undercards. please don't compare them its silly.
