but beating the berto/garcia/thurman winner will make him the king at the weight IMO, plus almost all the top 54 guys are PBC......

The PBC guys at 154 are killers though. If he wants to move up and win a belt now it won't be easy.

No rush at all. Plenty of fights at 147, and build up to either Thurman or Crawford.

A fight against Hurd or Munguia could ruin him though I’d favor him to win both being the better boxer.

2020, no need to move up any faster, we already in July and he just fought. No chance any big fight gets made till
2019 so that’s a realistic timetable which is perfect for Spence.

Plus I don’t believe he beats Charlo, Spence just needs to stay at 147 and dominate.

The jury is out on Munguia and I’m guessing that would be the target. It’s a lot like what ggg wanted to do with Froch or Chavez but there were no takers. The idea being not to change weight, packing on muscle but just fight a bigger guy and stay the weight you already are..”temporary”

As long as he can make 147 then you stay in it even if it is up until 2020. If he has to fight Yordenis Ugas, Jessie Vargas, or give new Challengers like Kudratillo Abdukakhorov, Egidijus Kavaliauskas, Kerman Lejarraga then that is what you have to do while you wait for the other champions to grow a pair. NOBODY currently at 154 is a bigger fight than a potentially a Thurman and Crawford Fights. If Mikey Garcia is really serious about fighting Spence Jr then that as well can be a HUGE fight. Now is most certainly not the time to move up!

I agree if he can get mikey.....then that would be a big fight....but if no mikey.....look at it like this....he has not been in a big sight since brook and that was over a year ago......

Spence should dominate welterweight for as long as he can make the weight. The day will come when he can't make the weight anymore and then he can go to 154.

Spence likely unifies with the Garcia/Porter winner in March.
