If Jacobs manages to grab the IBF belt then I would be much more interested in seeing a GGG/Jacobs rematch. He's looked lackluster in his last two outings but hopefully he can get a convincing win against Sergiy.

One of those fights wasn't his fault the other guy was holding too much. The fight should had been called off.

WTF are you talking about. GGG wasn't stipped of his belt until after the Vanes fight when he asked for permission to fight Canelo in their highly anticipated rematch instead of Sergei D. WTF are you even talking about.

IBF specifically told that it won't count Vanes fight as defence of IBF belt. But they will let it go as long as fight against Derev happens in less than 3 months.

g chose to vacate so he could fight Vanes. When g asked for permission for an optional, the IBF told him, if he fights an optional on May 5th instead of the unknown bum, he would have to fight the unknown bum by August 3rd.

g said he agreed to this, knowing that he would either fight Derevyanchenko by August 3rd or vacate his belt. He chose to vacate to fight a retired guy from a lower division. The IBF gave him the option, and g said he would fight Derevyanchenko within the allotted time. Then he decided he didn't want to and so he vacated. If g would have just vacated from the beginning instead of lying and saying he was going to fight his mandatory, this fight would already be scheduled.

If anyone is mad about how long it has taken, then g is the only party to blame.
It is his fault. He is the one who vacated to avoid the dreaded Russian taxi cab driver.

This is a mandated fight and they can't get agreement on the purse split. Are you actually that naive to believe the fight would have taken place before August 3 with Derevyanchenko rolling over on the purse split in order to make the fight happen. How the hell was G supposed to fight Derevyanchenko on AUGUST 3 and then fight Canelo shortly after.

Yes, g didn't vacate to fight Canelo. He vacated to fight Vanes.

If you are smart enough you will know that vanes was an exemption, he vacated after that.

IBF strips Golovkin because he had to fight Devrechenko before Aug 3 after he Vanes and give up on a Canelo fight which is the biggest financial fight this year and would have been the IBF biggest sanctioning fee

the IBF decides to Extend the purse bid TIL July 10th , wouldn’t be suprised if the fight happens in Oct / Nov . A month or 2 after Canelo / ggg
And realistically 2-3 months before Gennady would fight again

So instead of being patient and waiting until after the Canelo rematch to enforce a Mando which they were cool with in May

With Degeale vacating They strip probably their longest reigning and one of their most popular champions and lose out on a sh.it load of $ and give the opportunity to 2 fighters who don’t deserve a strap

It's pretty much why IBF is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to sanctioning bodies. Even WBA, which has 50 champs per division is thought to be better.

Agree with you about the common sense part

Respect that the IBF follow their rules to the letter , but in doing that they often diminish their organization and the sport
