one thing that strikes me is that if Hearns is not to be trusted, why did he start the campaign asking about Wilder months ago and why are all of his fighters happy with him?
I mean, the other side does not have a solid background anyway.
I think both camps are playing us until they make this fight as big as possible, but if I have to believe in someone wi will go with Hearns and the more educated party.Comment

A sunny independence day & Laced Up is doing what he does best. Playing with his toy action men and building super-spy equipment from Lego bricks.
His head tilts to the side & he looks around. Its not the 1 direction posters on his wall talking to him but he can sense something. Laced Up has a sneaky su****ion than someone is taking his Lord's name in vain.
In a matter of seconds Laced Up is dressed for the occasion. He's feeling dapper & protected in his mediaeval armour made from cereal boxes.
It doesn't take him long to log in to boxingscene & live up to the promise he sent Hearn via an email. A promise to dedicate his life to preserving Eddie Hearn's reputation online....Comment

yeah...Espinoza and haymon are very uneducated....im sure finkel is too...they've never put any big fights on or put any togetherone thing that strikes me is that if Hearns is not to be trusted, why did he start the campaign asking about Wilder months ago and why are all of his fighters happy with him?

Yes minion just because you switched you pic Fromm AJ to Christoph Waltz ( great actor ) doesn’t mean you’ve fooled anyone into thinking your not a groupiemug I don't need to because if you boil down to who has chosen to face the toughest challengers and chase other belts and who has faced tomato can after tomato can ..,then it's only one winner and that's AJ and AJ will continue to do that.
That's why Joshua is the kingpin of the division and earns 8 times the amount of donkey wilder.
The facts are all to see gumbo
Yes I know AJ is the man makes all the $ , faces all the toughest test
He’s your Hero and Hearn is his protector and the ultimate truth teller
Just ignore the events of the last couple months and just repeat what Eddie tells you and it’ll be all right
Yeah it’s beyond sad at this point
These guys ( term used loosely) just repeat Hearns talking points like it’s proof
Well Eddie said it so there you goComment

you are correct that this is unique to boxing. but boxing is more mafia than legitimate business. or at least some of the etiquette and courtship between warring factions is still rooted in that tradition. It's possible this is the case uniquely in boxing, which I've only had limited direct experience in and nothing on the fight negotiation side, so I can't say you're incorrect, but this is definitely not the case in other sports or in the wider commercial world. I've had plenty of meetings where there was an expression of interest but not a clear agreement on key commercial points. To flat out refuse a meeting where there's a potential of reaching a deal worth many millions to each party is not typical commercial behaviour.
it takes a lot to justify a sit down. and unless there is some sort of understanding on money, everything else is so irrelevant it's not even worth discussing.Comment

Ok .. so let's look at the evidence.
Hearn is telling his side of the story on record, in the open, and is willing to answer any questions put to him about it.
Finkel isn't. Finkel is making occasional brief statements on social media - none of which directly contradict Hearn's story - then relying on minions and fanboys to pick them up and spin them on his behalf.
What those minions and fanboys are saying on Finkel's behalf is that Hearn wasn't even trying to make the fight this year. They're saying that the reason the contract he sent to Wilder had no date was that Hearn intended to get Wilder's signature on it first, then reveal that the contract was for a fight in April 2019.
That is a ridiculous and preposterous notion!
Hearn got a months extension on the WBA mando with Povetkin because he told the WBA he was trying to negotiate a unification fight with Wilder next. If he'd been lying about that, then not only would the contract have been worthless, but Hearn would have ended up in court being sued for damages and compensation by Finkel, Wilder, the WBA and Povetkin and his promoter too!
Another equally preposterous story being put out on Finkel's behalf is that the statement by Gilberto Mendoza, saying the the WBA had called time on AJ/Wilder and were ordering AJ to fight his mando, was meaningless ... that Hearn could have ignored it and carried on with negotiating with Finkel if he'd wanted, because Mendoza is Hearn's puppet, and he only made that statement in the first place because Fast Eddie told him too!
Utterly ridiculous and preposterous!
Now apply some logic to that evidence. If Hearn is telling the truth about Wilder's team knowing the contract he sent was for a fight this year, before AJ/Povetkin - and he obviously is telling the truth about that - then that means Wilder was sent a contract to fight AJ next, on terms he had already agreed to .. and he didn't sign that contract.Last edited by kafkod; 07-04-2018, 10:36 AM.Comment

Reminder: Hearn and Finkel already had a meeting scheduled for that week, and Hearn had already flown over to the States for it.you are correct that this is unique to boxing. but boxing is more mafia than legitimate business. or at least some of the etiquette and courtship between warring factions is still rooted in that tradition.
it takes a lot to justify a sit down. and unless there is some sort of understanding on money, everything else is so irrelevant it's not even worth discussing.
But Finkel cancelled the meeting after sending Hearn the "offer" and refused to reschedule.Comment
