I just wonder how much longer he will be able to make 154, hopefully the fight happens before he has to move up.

Hurd’s surgeon told him not to use his shoulder for two weeks after having the procedure June 18. Now he’ll need six weeks of rehabilitation and physical therapy before he can resume any kind of boxing training.
Total lie right there. Rotator cuff surgery is 6 months recovery and that's from a top NFL surgeon. When they say 6 months, double it to be 100% and pain-free.

Hurd wants to take 'tune up' fights against either mandatories, I like his attitude.

At least Hurd's "tune ups " are not no names with padded records that nobody has heard of like other protected belt holders.

I get the feeling that when the dust finally settles, he is going to be the last man standing.

              Lara understands.
              He wants Charlo next.

Lara clearly shook Hurd. Did anyone else even see that fight?!? That was a freaking war. Hurd never had anyone come right at him the whole fight like that. And say what you want, but Lara coulda just as easily got the W for what he did. That was a top contender for FOTY. And before that fight Hurd was saying anybody. Now he is saying no rematch with Lara, no way. And no Charlo, for a while either. If there was ever a fight that deserved a rematch no matter what the judges say, it was Lara-Hurd.

Lara just zapped away Swift's confidence. Ole Swift thought no one could stand there and take his best shots. But Lara didn't just take his best shots, he kept firing hard shots in return. And Lara was an old man! We deserve a rematch, but it will be a while now. Swift realized he isn't invincible, and isn't so eager to fight the best all of a sudden. Hopefully Charlo mans up and faces Lara. And when Lara wins, Hurd will be out of excuses to avoid a rematch.

Wow man. We saw different fights. Lara looked broke down and busted in the 12th. Hurd dropped him hard and was going for the stoppage. It was a close fight but one man wilted under the pressure and looked rattled in the fight and that wasn't Hurd.

For whatever reason (styles, personal relationships, etc), it didn't see like either Charlo was too keen to get in the ring with Lara. Erislandyay be old but he's still a sharp, crisp fighter. I don't think he got old and lost his legs for the Hurd fight; I think he knew he couldn't move all night from that pressure put on by Hurd.

I don't think Hurd is afraid of anyone in that division. Dropping names like J-Rock and Castano isn't something a fighter lacking in confidence would do.
