Winky Wright was very difficult fighter to hit. He was one of the best defensive fighters of his era. Once he put those mittens up to his ears, it was impossible to catch with anything clean. You hit nothing but gloves. I still thought he won that fight against Bernard Hopkins at 170.

No way! B-Hop was one of the only ones that beat Winky clearly. That was when Wrinky was eating crispy cream donuts cuz he didn't have to worry about his weight. It showed in the fight with his sweaty trunks, one of my friends called him swamp a*s....LOL

Winky Wright: A while back, after I beat Tito (Trinidad). Oscar came up and said that he would fight us. Somebody made a proposal from his camp. They gave us the proposal and we felt that the proposal was not good enough. We turned it down."

You are absolutely correct! The knock against Winky Wright was that he always used to price himself out of big fights. He use to inflate his worth but if you are not one who is bringing in new fans, have a fan base, a loyal following or putting meat in the seats, then you can't justify receiving a parity of the purse split. That's just simply Boxing Economics 101.
