his last two years in the ring..between barrera, brand and the two kov fights he took in about 20 million dollars.....that's not bad for an "irrelevant" guy that cant sell out his hometown

like I said....there were probably several real good fights the hardcore fans would love to see...andre vs artur...andre vs bivol...or gvozdyk......but those aren't big money fights for ward......his last two paydays were like 7 and 6.5 million......if he fought on his next fight would have probably been a 2.5 type of payday....at his age, and all the years spent in the gym, its kind of hard to get motivated for that
Fair enogh they would have to be in-human not to want the money.
Hoping their will be some big fights coming up for him soon if he's still got the drive to make the big money.

The money he was was paid for those fights is what basically ran Jay Z out of the boxing business. As I recall J Z was forced to pay Ward more than the Kov fights were worth or Ward would not fight. He made that money in total contradiction to what he was actually worth. Everyone knows that. Tell me smart guy, how many pay-per-views did both Ward-Kov fights sell? Not even a combined 300,000. That tells me no one outside of hardcore boxing fans know who he is.

Or how about the time HBO would not let him fight some bum so he ran over to BET and he had to give away tickets for that fight, btw that fight was in his hometown.

you are "worth" what one promotional outfit is willing to pay you...that's all it takes is 1....just like any pro athlete is worth what one team is willing to pay even if you they overbid several other teams

ward made about 20 mil in two years....and that was just the last two years of this career.....how many fighters touch that in their careers? now add in the dawson fight and the super 6 fights....how many guys touch that total money in their careers n the fight game in the US?

the amount of ppv sales doesn't say anything about ward....because ward is great...and that kov matchup was a great one...both times! what it actually says is the general public is ****** and doesn't really pay attention to boxin in the US!

and HBO did let him fight some bum! he made like 2 mil for a televised sparring sessions with brand!

ward was smart...he knew HBO wanted the kovalev fight(and for him to stop mentioning golovkin)...he basically forced HBO to pay him to fight brand in order to get him to sign for kovalev!! genius...not bad for a guy that took almost 2 years off in his prime!

ward probably touched 30 mil or maybe even a little more in boxing! how many guys get that money in boxing in the US?!?!?!

not bad for a guy that nobody wants to watch and cant sell his hometown!

you, sir( I use this term loosely and you are most likely a peasant peon) are a boob

you sound like one of those guys that just gets outraged at the mere mention of wards name

prolly running ur mouth about how ward will back out of the first kov fight cause hes "scared" and will "probably fake an injury"...."kovalev will end wards career"

then you probably creamed your wrangler jeans when kov knocked him down and figured it was easy work...then when ward won you probably cried and claimed robbery

then you probably said "why is ward stalling on the rematch? hes probably scared and will probably retire rather than face certain destruction "kov will end wards career AGAIN but this time forreal"!!!

then you cried when kov quit and tried blaming it on lowblows and the ref!

you were likely one of the guys hollering about how canelo was going to have his career ended by golovkin too....then it was "man everyone knows golovkin one...the jab the jab though! all canelo did was run"

bunch of excuse making twats around here

Peasant peon? Stop sir you are hurting my feelings!

You are worth what the public is willing to pay to see you. If the promoter has to go into the red to pay a fighter because they refuse to fight does not mean he is worth it. What it does say is the promoter is doing bad business. What good is paying Ward if the fights he participates in do not generate revenue/profit for the promoter? And Ward never generated any revenue or profit for Roc Nation.

I don't know why you are obsessed with another man's money. I guess you have to go that route because you have none of your own and Ward has so little fanbase someone like you has to resort to saying he was successful because he was paid a x amount.

Nobody in boxing misses him and no one paid to watch his fights. Roc Nation was so desperate to put a foot hold in the boxing market they overpaid Ward to their own detriment and in bankrupted their promotion. The same reason Haymon went broke, over paying fighters more that their worth. If you are blinded just because you have a boner for Ward then there is not much anyone can say to convince you otherwise.

I wish I would of read this one first before I responded because based on your grammar you "prolly" have only a 6th grade education or you are a "special" kind of kid. Either way I don't get into online arguments with ******ed adults. It is just not fair to you.

Its funny how the internet gives ignorant, illiterate, morons courage. Because if you had to make an argument like this in person you would be laughed at, ridiculed, and humiliated based on your grammar which I am sure translates accurately into the way you talk and present yourself.

You would not have the courage to articulate your argument in person because you are obviously an uneducated, intellectual moron and you would be too embarrassed to show just how dumb you really are. But like I said the internet gives idiots like yourself courage because even though you still present yourself as an idiot you can hide from everyone's laughter and ridicule.
