Hearn did that knowing Wilder would say no because he wanted to fight AJ next. When an offer isn't real, does it really matter how much it is for?

That's not what he's offering. He's offering $20M for bum+AJ. Basically, he's upping his flat fee offer to $20M.

Always assume everything that every boxing promoter says is a lie. Only if it directly contradicts what another boxing promoter is saying is there a chance one of them is telling the truth (and likely a partial truth at that).

The 50 mill did look like a PR stunt at first. Especially after Finkle refused to sit down and talk about the offer unless Joshua accepted without seeing the details.

And Hearn was all set to fight Wilder in the states for the 50 mill if Joshua was onboard. But Joshua wanted the fight at home, Which was his right as the A side.

If Hearn is saying he'd give Wilder another 5 mill to sign the contract for April, then he means it. But Wilder is doing his best to **** it all up by asking for half the money, which he isn't going to get.

How is it that Hearn can offer as much as $5 million...
