Golden Boy Promotions is excited to launch an innovative partnership with Facebook to bring live boxing and original programming to a global community of fans on the platform. The first of five live fight nights on Facebook will debut on August 11 and will feature Jesus Rojas (26-1-2, 19 KOs) defending his WBA World Featherweight Title against Joseph "JoJo "Diaz Jr. (26-1, 14 KOs) at the world-famous Avalon Theater in Hollywood. The second live fight will feature light heavyweight contender Sullivan Barrera (21-2, 14 KOs) against a soon-to-be announced opponent on August 18 from the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

What? This will be on Facebook? These are big fights, ESPN doesn't want these?

I think Oscar is diversifying his portfolio. GBP now has deals in place with HBO, ESPN, Facebook and Estrella TV to showcase his fighters, smart move even though they probably won’t be making much money but it does give dates for his fighters.

Co-signing BigZ. This should probably be reserved for prospects. I hate Facebook but I will probably watch.

I think the ESPN deal was a time buy from Oscar. And im thinking his plan was to get his fighters exposure so he can get a good deal from some media company

This should help Main Events in the long run though. I have no clue what their roster even looks like these days.

This is a great move. Right now we seeing a big shift in streaming with DAZN and ESPN+ all adding boxing but facebook is free. Fans don't have to pay an extra subscription cost so I'm all for that. If Facebook wants to invest in boxing I will take advertisement in between rounds over paying anymore additional subscription charges.

Get outta here with this facebook shti. I don't want to sign up to some CIA spy racket just to watch some good fights. Pretty sure it'll be streamed elsewhere anyway.
