He does Showtime's best ratings and also sells the most tickets.

Just because boxing is more popular in the UK and AJ has more fans than Wilder doesn't change the fact that as far as American fighters go, Wilder is pretty much the biggest star.

However, if Al decides to punish him by cutting out the picture completely, for the Wilder fiasco then he's toast. He wouldn't be able to gain a foot hold in the states. Moreover, most American boxing fans hate streaming their fights anyway unless they are free. He'll just remain a successful regional boxing promoter as opposed to global one which is perfectly fine.
Hearn has a big enough budget to play with that he could get Haymon's entire army to jump to DAZN.

The problem though is that Haymon wants situations where he gets the entire budget. Hearn has his own stable to worry about and Haymon's stable would have to split the budget with Hearn's existing stable.

The move to watch for is Dana White. He has no stable If he can offer Haymon's army twice the Showtime budget, he could conceivably take Haymon's guys all at once and Showtime would be totally screwed. They have nobody on paper.

On a personal level, I hope that it does succeed because more variety is good for boxing.

That would be good for boxing if Dana White does throw his hat into the fight game. However, part of boxing mainstream decline is that fighter promoters don't want to work with each other anymore. If Eddie Hearn and Dana White can succeed in the states; The largest market in the world, then boxing has a chance of becoming a mainstream sport around the globe again.

As far as Dana offering Al Haymon's army twice the amount of money to come fight for him I just don't see it. By most accounts White has a reputation for being very frugal when it comes to paying his fighters.

However, the main obstacle to boxing's success globally and especially in the states is the decline of the American amateur boxing program. Back in the day America used to develop fighters frequently but not anymore. If boxing is to succeed again, then it must get back to developing and grooming young talent.

I think you are wrong about Hearn. He is good at what he does and will be an important promoter for a long time. His future doesn't depend only on AJ.

Joshua is British. The Brits are loyal to their fighters so if he does fight Wilder and loses he will still put tons of asses in seats. Hearn is going nowhere.

Joshua would still sell out stadiums in the UK after a loss to Wilder, that's not changing any time soon and Hearn owns British boxing. He may not end up having success in the US, but he ain't going anywhere in the UK.

every haynonn fighter has turned hearn down. nobody with a high profile name is going to dazn. lol

hearn will get the ishe smiths of the world, but no headliners.

jacobs is the only guy who signed and he cant get a big fight to save his life since he signed with eddie.

He fought ggg while with haymon, now its the arias and selucki of the world. eddie has no stable.

                      Okay where do we begin...

                      1. You have no idea of who has signed and who hasn't. Anyone who has signed has obviously been locked into an NDA to neither confirm or deny until the launch. For all you know he could roll out 2 or 3 of your favourite fighters personally.

                      2. Nobody with a high profile? Define high profile currently in the US and what signifies that a fighter has it?

                      3. Al haymons didn't "get" Jacobs the GGG fight...the fight was always there. He lost.. and lost his regular world title too so he needed to be rebuilt . He faced arias.. and then a final eliminator in sulecki.

He gets paid more per fight than he did with Haymon. He still obviously has a fan base as he drew 800,000 + viewers on HBO and he is now.. mandatory in the WBA. Could fight derevyanchenko for the vacant IBF and is #1 in the WBO. But yeah... You're right... Hearns done nothing for him . Tit.
