Of course boxers want to preserve their status at the top if they get there. They don't get paid scraps like the guys at the top of the UFC (most get around 500k for a PPV card. Highest guaranteed purse is $3 million *fact check please*). A boxer doesn't need to be a PPV star to get $1 million purses.

For example, a guy like Danny Garcia has been fighting at the top of the sport since 2012. He's been making north of $1 million since fighting Zab. Since the first Morales fight he's made north of $10 million. That's better career earnings than about 80% of the NFL.

It might not be the best for the fans, but from his perspective (and his family interests), it's smart career management.

What if he just had his MMA fighters fight under boxing rules?
Some of them are actually decent standing up.

Dana already has had bad words with Arum and Dela Hota so I don't see him working with them! That's not good for boxing

Unless Dana is planning on lacing them up himself, I don't see him doing anything in boxing.

I never thought I'd like Dana White but when I think about what Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum are like, Dana White doesn't really seem that bad.
