Wilder was offered 15.5 million, that's more than 7 times his highest payday and more money than he's made in his entire career and that's just for one fight. If he wins the first fight he would make at least double that in the rematch. So we are talking almost 50 million if he wins the first fight or over 30 million even if he loses both fights.

50 million to Joshua is not much, it's just 2 times his highest payday. He can make that in two fights, against say Povetkin and Miller, or in one fight against Fury. Plus he will make about 40 million against Wilder in the UK and that's without his sponsorship deals.

The offer to Wilder is life changing, the offer to Joshua is what he'll make by the end of the year. Apples and oranges.

And Wilder took 4 weeks to agree to the offer and still wouldn't sign the contract after more than a week knowing full well the clock is ticking and every day matters. Says it all really.

But they achieved what they set out to do. The gullible and low information American public is easily fooled.

    • Wuss Josh is the consummate coward professional! The ostrich with its head in the ground looking for Hearn Jr. to stabilize it in the hole, with always the final word coming from Hearn Sr!.......What a movement!!!

but he won't fight him without a rematch clause (YOU stated that ) and would rather turn down $50million guaranteed...

But Wilder is scared ? You fool!

See how easy that was? Give up, tough guy grandpa.

Oh yea...and he needs more than 8 weeks training camp
There is always a rematch clause for A-side fighters in championship fights. I think your intentionally being naive about this because of your fan favouritism. What would be unusual would be for there to be a prescheduled rematch no matter who wins the fight. That never happens.

And I told you fools 2 or 3 months ago he'll fight povetkin next...they don't want any of wilder
          *Through

You have no evidence to back your claim that AJ had already signed to fight Povetkin.

If Wilder would have signed the contract he has, he would be fighting Joshua next.

What you're saying is nothing more than malicious smears, lies, and delusion. Sort yourself out will you. You're making a right tit of yourself. Back it up, or shut up.

You don't know how much he makes. Filed purses, at least in the US, are often wildly inaccurate.

Unless you really believe Cotto only made 700k for his retirement fight?

            • Wilder is the real world champion now in my eyes.

Joshua is just the domestic champion of England.

So they sent him a fkn contract while he's organizing a fight against povetkin??

Are you people that dumb to believe their bull*** story???

Does AJ appear to want the fight?

The only one who has been eager to fight is wilder...they can send a 10000 contracts...but people who're eager to fight act different...sending contracts while organizing a fight with povetkin...yea that makes sense doesn't it
Can you tell me what was in the contract that wasn't agreed upon when they accepted the offer?

Of course there were talks with the Povetkin camp, he's the mandatory, ******. Obviously Hearn was going to just in case Wilder causes problems. He's not going to put all his eggs in one basket with the Wilder fight.

The bottom line is they had a contract on which they agreed, but they didn't sign because they wanted changes done to it so were sending the contract back unsigned. You don't send a contract if you don't want the fight. You do however, send the contract back unsigned if you want to duck the fight.

Was Wilder a coward when he was forced to make the Stiverne fight in a mandatory?
You need to read the context of that conversation.

Dude said Wilder is scared because he wanted a rematch clause.

                  Must be ditto for AJ.

Finkels response was he'd have a counter offer 2 to 3 days later, but then on...

april 12th - Aj dropped this "If it is a $100 million fight and they are happy with taking 60-40, I'll take 50-50. Give me $50 million dollars up front and I swear I'll take that fight tomorrow,"

Instead of furnishing a smaller more reasonable offer, Wilder and his people worked to give Aj what he asked for,

April 25th - Wilder offers AJ a minimum guarantee of $50 million, with 50-50 split if the fight makes more than $100 million, no rematch clause, the fight must take place between September-November at a site of Wilders choosing.

Hearn Responds by accusing Wilders camp of making a fake offer for PR purposes, he says Wilder doesn't have the money, he requests proof of funds. some back and forth between camps.

April 30th - Hearn receives proof of funds.

May 2nd - Hearn reports that the fight is at a 70% chance of being signed. He stated they are negotiating and had more qustions.

May 7th - Barry Hearn admits he wants AJ to delay the Wilder fight. Admits he even advised AJ to do so.

May 22nd - Hearn, AJ and Mccraken reject the $50 million offer.

June 4th - Hearn slips in an interview:"I think it will get done but the WBA are asking us every day and we are extending this negotiation period all the time. At the moment, we are fighting Povetkin. I think we have to make a call by the end of the week really"

June 10th - Wilders accepts terms. The offer is the 2nd offer after the $50 million was rejected. There's no details on the negotiations after May 22nd, but the offers went from 12.5, to 15. The offer is a flat fee, included a rematch clause that would take place in the U.S. no matter who won the first fight.

                    June 11th - Finkle requests a contract.

June 15th - Hearn sends the Contract.

June 18th - Finkle has concerns and questions regarding specific items in the contract. Which was later revealed that there was no date or venue included in the contract, because the date was September 15th at Wembley,

June 22nd - Hearn claims he responded.

June 24th - Finkle writes to Hearn telling him he's sending back the contract for small corrections, and for a date and venue, intimating it will be signed once the corrections are made and the contract is returned.

June 25th - Hearn claims he has not heard from Wilders team, he then attacks Wilder. Finkle claims Hearn has not responded to his e-mails, instead he reaceived a letter from Hearn stating AJ would be fighting Povetkin next, and wilder can fight AJ in April of 2019.

June 26th - WBA announces 48 hour deadline for AJ to sign for Povetkin. Date, venue, and Dazn deal already announced.
Wilder tried to buy the A-side position with the 50 million dollar offer instead of earning the A-side position in the ring. And the Povetkin fight has openly been discussed by Hearn as a secondary option from the very beginning. Why did Wilder and his team cancel appearances and meetings? Why did it take them a month to respond to an offer?
