Not really because it's common practice that the A side gets a rematch clause just in case. You don't just hand over all you've worked for because you want to appear tough. That would be silly.

In any event, they stated that the contract would be signed and sent Friday. Then immediately they get this 24 hour deadline..and now they get a letter saying the fight will be next year in April, apparently.

They also said they wanted to move off of September due to Canelo...and now they are saying they will fight Povetkin in September.

Why didn't they just offer Wilder that September date? I understand you are obviously a fan of AJ and/or Hearn, but it doesn't seem to add up to them wanting the fight, bro. At least not next.

I thought they said it would be sent back signed. They did want a date, and I don't know what was up with the rematch clause as it seemed there was some disagreement there...

Everything takes Wilder off guard. He did an interview the other day going on about an old offer of 12.5 mill. So I wouldn't piss on what Wilder has to say. The guy is a genuine clown that doesn't know what the hell is going on so he makes a fool of himself by opening his mouth. It would be better if Wilder was to remain silent.

The Povetkin fight wouldn't clash with the Canelo fight the way the Wilder fight would. Hearn doesn't lose money by having them so close to each other. That wouldn't be the case if he was fighting Wilder.
