[QUOTE=Rubber Ducky;18893161]Not a shock that he was going to use Joshua as a way to launch DAZN in the US, why on earth wouldn't he use his biggest asset to launch his biggest deal.
People may moan about subscribing to DAZN to get the fight, but the first month is free, you can subscribe watch Joshua/Povetkin and any other fights that month then cancel your subscription. It's literally a free fight and a damn good fight too.
Fans get a free fight, Hearn and DAZN get to launch with a big **** with a marquee fight and even Joshua and Povetkin do well out of this as DAZN will pay more than Showtime would to secure this on their platform.[/QUOTE
I keep reading this and I have a question. How many of these $20 give aways is it going to take for AJ to make $50 million ?

So I'm assuming only about 20 -25% or so of those active viewers will sign up and even fewer will stay after the one month trial
I'm siding with new formats edging out the diminishing power of the TV networks. I couldn't put a notable estimate on how many subscriptions but- a dedicated sports subscription service in a nation of over 300 million people...
It should pull in more than enough to get it up and running over the next two years.

It's owned by Leonard Blavatnik. A Ukrainian billionaire who owns Warner music and has a share in Spotify among others.
The company is successfully challenging long held sports broadcasting rights in other countries and is prepared to put tens of billions into the business.Last edited by Reverb; 06-26-2018, 04:57 PM.

The only companies that have successfully got people to sign up consistently in the US are Apple and Amazon. And that's because of their vast ecosystems.
