According to Hearn they didn't ask for a confirmed date or venue, even though he had end of October almost pencilled in. Apparently they just wanted confirmation that they were fighting Joshua next which Hearn confirmed.

Then they said they will send the contract back Friday, unsigned.

Not a shock that he was going to use Joshua as a way to launch DAZN in the US, why on earth wouldn't he use his biggest asset to launch his biggest deal.

People may moan about subscribing to DAZN to get the fight, but the first month is free, you can subscribe watch Joshua/Povetkin and any other fights that month then cancel your subscription. It's literally a free fight and a damn good fight too.

Fans get a free fight, Hearn and DAZN get to launch with a big **** with a marquee fight and even Joshua and Povetkin do well out of this as DAZN will pay more than Showtime would to secure this on their platform.

It's not the one everyone wants, but still a very good fight – I'm not going to rant and rave over it, or slobber nonsense like "duck!" or "pussy!" like some of you clowns. Even a no-PEDs Povetkin can give Joshua a stiff test.

Ignoring all the politics here, this is a good match up and Povetkin is in many people's books the third best in he division so is a fight to look forward too.

The loser really is wilder because he almost has no where to now? If he takes Brezeale on nobody really will take is seriously, the only option of any substance is an Ortiz rematch but I don't think that's likely given he could easily have lost the first one; will be interesting to see how it pans out!

Other thing for me is if the April date is correct then surely Joshua could do two fights before then if (and it's a big if) he beats Povetkin comfortably. He could for instance take on Miller in December in New York which would help drum up the USA audience before the wilder fight

Because Eddie is a big liar and copping out. He was building an excuse in order to bypass the Wilder fight.

Anyone who thinks this is a good fight hasn’t watched Povetkin recently.

Hey Hearn It's obvious this was Hearn's plan all along. Not looking out for Joshua best interest turning down 50M just to launch his app

Wow, so Hearn is only going to make AJ vs Povetkin available in the US via DAZN? So what was all of the talk about trying to make a deal to fight Wilder about? Was all of that just some circle jerk, mind fuck BS? What's happening to boxing, man??? Maybe the promoters are getting fed up with the changing business plan of the big networks that have traditionally televised fights. All I know is after all is said and done, if I have to jump through hoops and pay much more to watch fights by subscribing to several different apps, boxing may lose its luster for me.

                    Welcome to DA ZONE !

Im ALMOST glad , the Wilder fanbase needs to be tortured SLOWLY for not pushing Wilder to actually stop being ****** on social media and his team of incompetence!
Joshua can't even get more then 300K fans to watch the fight for free with their showtime subscription. Now telling those fans who already pay for Showtime go buy DZN or whatever this shyt is called to see a fight vs Povetkin?

And oh yeah Hearn BS about not wanting to put a fight in the month of Sept to stay away from Canelo/GGG yet he is now fine airing this fight in sept. Hearn built phony roadblocks to kill the fight and take millions out of Joshua's pocket SMH

I guess this is the big event that will open the US to DAZN because he couldn't sign any high profile fighters to come aboard. Looks like AJ is going to be an even smaller name in the states because no one is going buy this ****** app and Joshua was only doing 250K viewers before
^^^^^ BINGO less people will actually watch this fight just like less watched Crawford fight on ESPN+ then they could of had on regular ESPN. Joshua gets more views and pub fighting on Showtime then this ****** app.
