Eddie won this round. He will have the perfect excuse to duck Wilder next with the IBF. He is praying that Miller win over Pulev. It will take more than a year to make the fight. It would be better if Hearn didn't try to save face with that low-ball

You can give Hearn a pass if you want, but this is obviously his doing.
Exactly, unifications trump mandatories. Hearn very obviously told the WBA to give them another week to duck Wilder. AJ needs to sign with Haymon or Golden Boy. Hearn has pretty much destroyed his reputation as a take on all comers champion

Because it doesn't make sense. Sanctioning bodies have usually ALWAYS granted deference when negotiating Unification bouts. That's something they have agreed upon. And this bout is very deep in negotiation. To issue a proclamation like that right now is asinine.

            Politics baby
So you understand that is Hearn who is ducking the fight. Good to see

So as a fan you're more focused on Wilder losing out on money than you are on us losing out on an opportunity to see to goliath knock out artists go at it. SMH....some of you so-called boxing fans.

No, it was an observation. Wilder is playing games, insisting he is worth more than what is being offered. If AJ loses, Wilder will stand to lose a lot of money. Pretty simple, so try not to read into posts and just accept what is on the surface.

So the WBA issues this proclamation in the 11th hour of a unification negotiation that would lead to an undisputed champion? This after Team Wilder says they'll give Hearn a signed contract by June 29th after 2 small tweaks?

Either both teams are playing us or Hearn is one of the best bs'ers on the planet.

So accepting terms of a flat fee offer and then promising to sign contract once a couple of tweaks are made is playing games? Offering AJ $50M plus upside was playing games?

What exactly is on the surface? I mean sure, if AJ loses, we all lose, but is AJ obligated to fight Povetkin? Is the WBA belt THAT important? Is the WBA really gonna strip him if AJ shows them a signed contract within 24 hours?

Yes, Povetkin is a mandatory and the WBA will strip AJ within 24 hours if he doesn't sign to fight either Wilder or Povetkin. Wilder stood to earn about 8x his best payday, but would rather play games and take on another no-hoper (Breazeale) for $2M. Like I said, if AJ loses to Povetkin, Wilder loses his biggest payday AND a chance at establishing some sort of legacy by beating an undefeated AJ.
