Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor: I Started Very Poorly, I Thought Postol Was Slower

Josh Taylor's dream of a world title shot remains on course after the Tartan Tornado racked up an impressive points win over Viktor Postol. The Prestonpans puncher extended his professional record to 13 straight wins as he barged his way to the front of the queue to take on WBC super lightweight champion Jose Ramirez.

Postol IS slow. Maybe, as I had suspected, Taylor is just a tad overhyped. Fundamentally sound, yes, but the true elites in the sport have either elite power, or elite speed, or usually a mix of both. Does Taylor have elite speed? Does he have elite power for 140? Hmm..... questions questions. Neither ever jumped out much to me, thats all Im saying.

I had Taylor winning by one round, so the knock down was crucial.

It's a shame that all three cards were absolutely pathetic, but this is the norm these days and nothing will ever be done about it.

They fought very hard for almost every round. Josh Taylor has been getting touched up by veterans in Vasquez and now Postol ; I wonder how he deals with the pressure of a young prime Jose Ramirez -- should be war.

I still haven't seen this. Was there any controversy as to the winner or was Taylor clearly the better man?

That would be a classic case of "make it or break it".

Beating Postol in your 13th fight is impressive enough, though I was convinced that Taylor would have been able to stop him.

Taylor needs more fights before mixing it up with the cream. As of now he would be risking a lot in a genuine title fight.

It was kinda close early on, but Taylor got a second wind in the 10th and was getting the better of Postol.

I'm Scottish and thought Taylor won 115-112 but the scorecards were far too wide
