Not even....he had THREE exciting fights his entire career, and that's because Williams, Angulo and Hurd pushed the action.

      Make the fight!

If he wins, the rematch with Hurd will be even more meaningful once it happens

whoever wins will be considered undisputed SMW kingpin

          You must be thinking Hurd-Trout.

With or without the knock down, there was no doubt who the winner was.

With cross eyed judges all bets are off!!!

Lara has had his day in the sun. He is now a spent force.

            Williams? That fight was good.

Lara is my guy, but I want to see Brian Carlos Castano get a shot! After seeing Castano vs. Derevyanchenko, and Castano vs. Vitu, I get the feeling Castano is being avoided @ 154! Dude is 6'1", 15-0, w/11 KOs, and he's the WBA "regular" Super Welterweight Champion! Charlo vs. Castano, Make It Happen!

Let Lara go fight J-Rock! Again, Lara is my guy, but he lost his title to Hurd, so he shouldn't be handed another title shot that quickly. J-Rock is WBC #1, and IBF #1! Lara is WBC #2, and IBF #5. Let Lara earn his shot! Lara vs. Williams, Make It Happen!

This fight is all wrong for Charlo. His fight with Trout was awkward and close (even with the KDs), and this would be more of the same and then some. I think Lara knows this is a fight he can win which would catapult him into a rematch with Hurd. Charlo is a stalker/counter-puncher who waits for opponents to make lapses in defense and he either lunges in or counters. Lara wouldn't offer many defensive lapses while throwing or not; his wheels aren't the same as before but still better than Trout's. Lara cracks harder than Trout. I see a razor close decision and I think Lara would provide a more compelling argument than Charlo. I'm a Hurd fan, I think Hurd matches up much better against Lara than Charlo and I think Charlo's style matches up better against Hurd. Their all good fighters but styles make fights...

Hmm the Charlo fight was staring Hurd right in the eyes and he gets should surgery? Did he just pull a keith thurman?? I thought Hurd was bout that life but I'm not so sure anymore. Beating some older veterans but putting off fighting the other young lion because he has a boo boo on his shoulder?? Hmm.....

Lara is a bad style matchup for Jermell Charlo. Jermell really struggled with Jackson who was giving him movement.

I get that you're looking at this from a fan perspective but if Charlo loses to Lara he loses a lot and if he wins he'll just be beating a guy Hurd already beat.
Charlo needs names on his resume, who better than Lara at 154. Who is he going to fight in the meantime? He's not getting Brook of Munguia right now, he's already not fighting enough as is and the Lara fight is easy to make. Not many options out there right now. Waiting for Hurd would be foolish, too many fighters nowadays waiting on other fighters and stalling their careers
