The "super" title held by Geale was a paper title, specially created for Felix Sturm by a change in the WBA rules, so he didn't have to fight his mando, who was Golovkin.,

That's why, as soon as Geale beat Sturm, the WBA ordered him to fight GGG, who had been Sturm's mando for years. When Geale refused to fight GGG the WBA stripped Geale and the "super" title disappeared again until the WBA brought it back for the winner of GGG/Geale.

Yeah, and most likely GGG wen to beat the sht outta Geale and ruined his career so I dunno if there is any debate about who was the true WBA champ between both.

None. He's never won a world title or defended one.

            Or so it goes right?

how many does bhop have would be a more appropriate question seen as everybody is counting a no contest as a successful defence

"he wasnt awarded anything" but in the same paragraph "he was upgraded"

                lol

this is a major issue with some diehard golovkin fans, they contradict themselves over their hero and dont even realise it.

Personally I don't count the regular WBA title defences and if you do does that mean GGG isn't really the WBA champion but Murata is because he's the current regular champ?

It's bad enough we have all these sanctioning bodies, recognising the WBA regular belt and the WBC silver belt is moronic and if you disagree should we start calling Dillian Whyte a world champion because he has the WBC silver belt?

i thought this whole title defenses argument was put to bed when calzaghe and ottke both got 21 at virtually the same time in the same division. it doesn't really mean anything folks. artur grigorian had 17 defenses a couple years ago and no one knows who he even is.
